Plastic Drastic at The Rose Theater – 2/26 – 3/13
- When a colossal storm dumps a mountain of plastic trash onto their shoreline home, a young brother and sister are left alone to find their missing parents and fend for themselves. Best for ages 7+, 60 minutes without an intermission.
Thomas the Train Night at the Omaha Children’s Museum – 3/4, 5 – 8 p.m.

Women in Aerospace Opens at The Strategic Air & Space Museum – 3/5
- A new permanent exhibit, “Women in Aerospace,” will honor notable pilots including Bessie Coleman, Amelia Earhart, and Sally Ride as well as Nebraska natives Evelyn Sharpe and Chandy Clanton. The exhibit will feature photos, biographies, and personal artifacts from the more than 112 years of controlled flight.
- Special Opening Event: March 5th, 10 a.m. features keynote speaker, Col. Karen Daneu, free continental breakfast, and a preview of two brand new exhibits. Please register online to attend the event. Regular admission applies ($12 adults, $6 children).
Southwest YMCA Summer Camp Open House – 3/5, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Register for YMCA Day Camp on March 5th and they will waive the $25 registration fee. While parents are registering for camps, kids can enjoy activities including Bounce House, Crafts, Climbing Wall, Summer Day Camp fitness activities.
Zootopia Party at Select Marcus Theaters – 3/5-3/6, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., FREE
- Come dressed as your favorite Zoo animal and participate in a variety of activities including Make-Your-Own Zoo Crafts, Fabulous Flamingo Making, Zootopia Headband Giveaways, Prize Giveaway, Coloring & Activity Sheets, and more.
- This party is for all ages. Movie admission sold separately.

Maple Tree Tap at Botna Bend Park – 3/5, 10 or 11 a.m., FREE (If space is available)
- Come in either the 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. sessions and get hands on experience as you drill your own taps in the park’s silver maple trees and learn how the process of making real maple syrup begins. There is no cost for this event. Free will donations will be accepted to support continued programming.
- Individuals that have not pre-registered may be admitted to the program if space is available. (Please call 712-328-5834.)
Marvelous Maples at Arbor Day Farm – Saturdays, 2/27, 3/5, & 3/12, 1 p.m.
- Discover the process of maple tree tapping! Learn how these marvelous trees work and taste the sweet results; includes tree activity and take home craft. Fun for all ages. Advanced registration required. Included with regular Tree Adventure Admission (Adults $7, Children 3–12 $5, Children 2 and under FREE).
Where Books and Art Meet – 3/5, 2:30, FREE, Registration Required
- Explore your creative side every week with art projects based on books and illustrations. Classes are taught by professional artists and art teachers in partnership with Arts For All. For children ages 8-12. Location: South Omaha Library
Family Skate at Motto McLean Ice Arena – Sunday, 3/6, 4 – 6:15 p.m.
- $10 for family of 4, $3 for additional person. Price includes: admission, skate rentals, and drink.
