Miles for Madonna – September 30, 2017 (10 a.m.)
- This year’s event will include a 5K run and 1-mile walk as well as a kid’s zone with face painting, balloon artist and games. Enjoy the photo booth, snacks and giveaway drawings too! The event will take place at Shelter 5/the boat dock at Zorinsky Lake in Omaha (156th & F Streets).
Drone Expo at the SAC Aerospace Museum – Sept. 30 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
- Features multiple indoor and outdoor activities for aviation and drone enthusiasts. Any guest bringing their quadcopter, helicopter, or multirotor can fly for free in the museum’s outdoor obstacle course. Indoor Activities: Drone drag race exhibition, flight safety presentations, booths from experts in drone and aviation related fields, and a hands-on workshop for youth will all take place inside throughout the day. The indoor festivities are part of general admission.

First Responders Action Day – Sept. 30 (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.); FREE
- Action Day is a joint venture between the First Responders Foundation and the Omaha Police Department and is a day filled with action and learning for kids! See exciting demos throughout the day, including blowing up pumpkins, rescuing submerged vehicles, robots in action, and more. Location: Omaha Public Safety Training Center, 11616 Rainwood Road, Omaha.
Super Safety Event at Shadow Lake – Sept. 30 (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.), FREE
- Old Navy in Shadow Lake Towne Center has teamed up with several community partners to bring you a morning full of fun, activities, and safety.
Fall Fun at Fat Brain Toys – Sept. 30 (9:30 – 10:30 a.m.)
- ESU#3 – Gifford Farm Education Center will have a few fun farm animals available for kids to pet. Then, settle down for some Art with Ann where we’ll be kicking off our Crayon Trade-In Campaign with pumpkin crayon rubbings.

Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow – Sept. 30 (1 – 7:30 p.m.); FREE
- Dancers in colorful regalia perform throughout the day, including the Gourd Dance that honors military veterans. This year’s Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow will highlight the history of the powwow with it being the 25th anniversary. Location: Metropolitan Community College Fort Omaha Campus, 5300 N. 30th St.
Living History and Heritage Days in Fort Calhoun, NE – Sept. 30 – Oct. 1.
- Heritage Days is a 2-day event celebrating the history of agriculture in Washington County and the early settlement days of Nebraska. The 1800s skills, trades and way of life will be celebrated through hands-on learning demonstrations, children’s games, traditional foods, and music. There will also be music, vendors, antique tractors, and a beard and mustache contest.
- Experience Living History where volunteers portray life at an 1820’s military fort at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park (201 S 7th Street, Fort Calhoun, NE). A valid daily or annual park permit is required.
Bloom Where You’re Planted Farm Pumpkin Festival – Sept. 30 – Oct. 29
- Bloom Where You’re Planted Farm is a pumpkin patch and educational farm located about 35 miles south of Omaha. Autumn activities include hayrides, U-pick patch, nature trails, farm animals, corn box, farm-themed play areas, and more.
