Salute to Safety Expo at Westroads Mall – 4/25, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., FREE
- Meet your local first responders, learn about safety and prevention tips and lessons on a variety of topics, free child ID kits, free bike helmets (ages 5-12 accompanied by an adult), free t-shirts for kids to design, see a variety of emergency vehicles, and many more hands-on activities.
YMCA Healthy Kids Day at Aksarben Village – 4/26, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., FREE (Pre-registration recommended)
- There will be bike safety courses (bring your bikes), free kid’s bike helmets, mascot race, bounce houses, face painting, Zumba, & more! The first 1,500 kids to pre-register, plus 1,000 early attendees, will receive a free bag and t-shirt!
Earth Day Events this Weekend:
Celebrate Arbor Day at La Vista Community Center – 4/23, 10 a.m.
- Come for an outdoor story time and Arbor Day tree planting followed by Preschool Playtime in the gym! There will be a special gift for all children who attend. No registration required.
Earth Day at Florence Community Center – 4/24, 1 – 3 p.m.
- Learn about Arbor Day, help plant a tree and take home a tree.
Arbor Day Family Activities at Lauritzen Gardens – 4/24, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Enjoy a variety of tree-themed educational activities designed for families to learn about a variety of tree topics. The first 100 households will receive a FREE tree seedling! This event is included with regular garden admission and is free for garden members. Nature Connects 2 LEGO® Exhibit ends April 26th!
- Children who dress like a tree will get in FREE!
Sarpy County Earth Day – 4/26, 12 – 4 p.m., BPS Lied Activity Center
- Earth Day Celebration will feature a 5K run/walk and 1 mile walk fundraiser, plus exhibitors, youth events, food and demonstrations.

Kite Festivals Coming Up in Omaha:
Papillion Kite Fly Day – 4/26, 12 – 4 p.m., FREE
- A free fun-filled day that will include demonstrations from the American Kitefliers Association. Areas available to fly your own kites and candy drops for the kids throughout the afternoon. Bring your chair/blanket and kite.
- Papillion Recreation Complex, 1100 West Lincoln Street, Papillion.
La Vista Kite Fly – 5/3, 12 – 4 p.m., FREE
- A popular event with many kites! Bring your own kite and kids can bring a bag for the candy drop.
- La Vista Soccer Complex, just South of 66th & Harrison Streets, La Vista.

Princess Treasure Hunt and Tea Party – 5/28
- Join princesses for a treasure hunt in Elmwood Park, followed by a tea party in the Pavilion with cupcakes and sweets!
- Reserve your spot now as only a few tickets will be available for each session – 5 sessions available. Parents and children ages 3 and up are $8.00 (+ $1.40 ticket fee). Siblings under 3 are free with a paid ticket.
