Both of these programs feature music of the NWS Swingtones directed by Brian Lund and followed by the Nebraska Wind Symphony directed this summer by Keith Davis.

The NWS Swingtones repertoire consists of big band arrangements in the style of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Wood Herman, Les Brown, and many others.  They are preparing two different programs of music from stage and screen and many from the Great American Song Book.

Grab your blanket, lawn chair, and favorite drink for our annual Crossroads Showcase in downtown Omaha’s Premiere Outdoor Venue, Gene Leahy Mall Pavilion – the young, but already iconic gem in Omaha’s RiverFront district.

Enjoy an scenic evening of music and poetry with festival headliners Dawn of Midi, Layale Chaker and Sarafand, and Kinan Azmeh, along with poetry from the current and former Nebraska State Poet and true Cornhusker wordsmiths Jewel Rodgers and Matt Mason.

Bring a picnic or peruse the many food trucks offering a myriad of uniquely-Nebraskan culinary experiences and let the kids run wild on Nebraska’s best playground or stop by the face-painting and other family-friendly activities throughout the park. And be sure to stop by our co-presenter KVNO’s tent for treats and fun items!

This free summer concert series is presented In partnership with Nelson Mandela Elementary School, Minne Lusa and Miller Park Neighborhood Associations, and other community partners.

• All concerts are free and open to the public, no ticket required.
• Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, food, drinks (including beer and wine), and leashed pets!
• No hard liquor or smoking, please!
• Shows will go on regardless of weather.
