Have you ever wondered what the Forest looks like after the sun goes down? Now you can find out at our Full Moon Hikes! Come on an evening hike with us and experience the Forest under the light of the moon.
This program will include an educational discussion of the nocturnal animals around the Forest and a brief talk about the lore of full moons. The guided hike will proceed after the discussion. After the hike, please join us for a seasonal snack.
Bring your family to celebrate the changing seasons at our Fall Equinox Celebration!
Join for a short, guided hike at Camp Brewster as we search for signs of seasonal changes in the Forest. After the hike, we will have a family-friendly craft to celebrate the equinox. To end our night, we will make a bonfire and have s’mores around the fire. Please remember to check the weather and dress accordingly.
Enjoy delicious BBQ from 402 BBQ, sip on fresh brews from Cedar Creek Coffee and Art, and soak in live tunes by Daniel and the Deliverance – all part of the perfect fall celebration.

It’s all part of our Plant to Give initiative.

The Lied Activity Center will be hosting our 19th craft fair for the Bellevue community on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, from 9am-3pm. It has grown to become one of the biggest fairs in Sarpy County, featuring over 230 booths. Join us for an amazing event, featuring local shops, tasty treats, and many talented artists!
Admission fees support the BPS Lied Activity Center. Adults $5
Make plans now to attend the annual Fall Arts and Crafts Show that will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 10th-11th at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
The show is billed as one of Iowa’s largest shows, with over 200 exhibitors presenting and selling thousands of unique, handmade products.
Among the various products being sold at the show are leather goods, oak, pine and wine barrel furniture, paintings and prints, ceramics, kids teepees, wall hangings, toys, blankets, jewelry, metal art sculptures, pet products, etched and stained glass, yard and garden art, pottery, candles, clothing, quilts, aprons, pillows, doll clothes, baskets, rugs, place mats, table runners, purses, floral arrangements and wreaths, wood and metal signs, soap and lotions, emu oils and many more original products.
Exhibitors will also be selling coffee cakes, dips, salsa, barbeque sauce, soups, jams, jellies, cheese and sausage, wines, fudge, honey, food mixes and roasted nuts. All items offered for sale to the public are handmade by the exhibitor.
Hours of the show are from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Sunday. Admission is $6 and children 10 and younger are free. Parking is free throughout the show. All patrons who attend the show on Saturday will receive a two-day re-entry stamp.

Starting this month Curiosity Crew is specifically developed for kids six and under with their parent or caretaker. Each month we’ll cover a brand new science topic and complete an activity or art project associated with it. This month we’re kicking off fall by learning why leaves change colors and making nature inspired leaf prints.
The public is invited to join the Ditmars family in the tradition of protecting our orchard and asking for the blessing of a successful crop next season with one of our most unique and beloved orchard traditions — Wassailing! This centuries-old English custom celebrates the orchard, the harvest, and the community that keeps it thriving. We’ll gather together among the apple trees as The Irish Pope leads our traditional blessing of the trees, wishing them health, abundance, and good fruit for the coming season.
Activities include re-enactments of old English traditional rituals & rhymes with a chance to see the wassailing ceremony every hour at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30.
Everyone joins in with chanting and music making, toasts of hot cider and placing gifts of cider-soaked bread — DONUTS, in our case! — onto the tree branches while chanting the lively words of praise for the New Year.
Warm yourself next to our bonfires or inside in our tasting room. Enjoy a traditional mulled wassail drink, served hot with spices & mixed with our regular fresh pressed or hard apple cider. The bar inside will be open with our own local Iowa wines and hard ciders.
The admission is FREE and open to the public, young and old.
