Facebook is requiring all pages, like The Spirit of Saving, to switch to the Timeline format by March 30th. Here are a few helpful hints to continue seeing all of our posts, and those from other pages you follow.
1. Go to The Spirit of Saving Facebook page (and like it if you haven’t already :)). Scroll over the check mark on the Liked button. When the drop-down box appears, make sure there is a checkmark next to “Show in News Feed.”
2. On your Home Page (where you receive all of your news feeds), scroll over the “Sort” button (at the top of your news feed) and choose Most Recent (the default is Top Stories). You might have to do this every time you login to Facebook – hopefully this will change soon.
3. This should allow you to see the most recent posts of the pages you follow. If this is still not the case, you can create a List, and customize it how you like. This should show every post in your List, unlike the News Feed which often leaves posts out.
To make a list: Go to your Facebook Home Page, and find the “Friends” section along the left sidebar. When you hover over the word Friends, “More” will show up – click on that. Choose “Create List” and name your list. Then go into “Manage List” (top right corner) and choose “Edit List.” Using the “On this List” tab, you can add both pages and friends to your list. Now, you should see the List you just created under “Friends” on your left sidebar on the Home Page. When you click on this List, everyone included in your list will show up with the Most Recent posts at the top!
4. Brand new as of March 8th – you can create Interest Lists of your favorite pages. I am not sure how that works yet, but we will have to wait and see!
All pages will have to change over to the new Timeline soon, and hopefully this will help so that you will receive all of the latest posts. You can also subscribe to receive updates of The Spirit of Saving through your favorite reader or email (one email per day).
This new format is going to take some getting used to, but hopefully these tips will help!
