It snowed today. Not much, maybe 1-2″, but this is the first snow that stayed on the ground, and my son was EXCITED! All he could think about was that new sled he got for Christmas and TODAY, today was the day he has been waiting for – the first time he would ever go sledding.
He looked outside and saw the white ground with little strands of grass poking through. There wasn’t much snow, but there was enough – and that is all that mattered to my little boy. We got all bundled up, and all I could see was his little face – smiling from ear to ear.
I didn’t even know he knew what sledding was – but somehow he knew, and today was his day. We went to this little hill near our home, he sat down on his blue little sled, held on, and then looked back at me with this precious look – giving him the reassurance he needed. Then one little push and down the hill he went, laughing all the way. It was a short little hill, and we must have gone down it fifty times, but each time was as exciting as the first.
I took a few pictures, but even if I didn’t get the perfect one, this is a day I will never forget.
