New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular

Enjoy the downtown Holiday Lights and watch the fireworks at the Gene Leahy Mall, 14th and Farnam. Elderly persons and citizens with disabilities are welcome to view the fireworks from the fourth floor of the W. Dale Clark Library.  Spectators are encouraged to bring a radio and listen to Star 104.5 for the musical score developed specifically for this event.

Noon Year’s Eve at the Durham Museum

Children of all ages will enjoy this fun-packed party with live music, special crafts and activities. Ring in the noon year in your handmade party hats while enjoying the celebratory bubble wrap stomp and the spectacular balloon drop at noon in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Great Hall. Presented by ConAgra Foods.

Noon Year’s Eve at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium

Have a wild time with entertainment from Joe Cole’s Magic Show, fun activities and an early countdown to 2015 complete with a beach ball drop at noon.

Noon Year’s Eve Party at W. Dale Clark Main Library

Bring the family and celebrate the coming of 2015! Have a glitzy and glittery time with sparkly art projects and all kinds of fun that both families and youth can enjoy – all before bedtime. Also, have a stomping good time with a celebratory bubble wrap stomp! Fizzy drinks and popping corn snacks will be served.  Groups of 8 or more please call ahead.

Noon Year’s Eve at Saddlebrook

Join Saddlebrook Branch and Saddlebrook Community Center to celebrate “Noon Years Eve”! We will sing songs and read stories at 10:30 a.m. storytime. Afterwards, enjoy crafts, toys, a bounce house, family photo booth, dancing, and a balloon drop at Noon!

Noon Year’s Eve at Pottery Barn Kids

Bring a shoebox for your child to decorate and keep as a 2015 memory box. As the clock strikes “noon”, children will celebrate with noisemakers and special giveaways.

Omaha Children’s Museum New Year’s Eve Bash

Ring into the New Year at Omaha Children’s Museum on December 31 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with rockin’ activities throughout the entire museum. Enjoy NYE themed crafts, science shows, dance party and final countdown into the New Year at 3 p.m.!

  • Date and Time: Wednesday, December 31st, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Cost: Included with regular museum admission or membership.


UNMC Ice Rink Open for New Year’s Eve

The rink is located just east of 42nd Street, midway between Emile Street and Dewey Avenue on the north side of the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education building. It features concessions, music and seasonal decorations. The ice skating rink is open through Jan. 31.

  • Date and Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Noon to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The rink will be open on New Year’s Eve.
  • Cost: Admission is $7, which includes skates (cash or credit card only-no checks or debit cards).
  • Parking: Free parking is available in Lot 04 (southeast corner of 42nd and Emile St.) and Lot 15S (surface lot on 40th Street between Dewey & Emile streets) located on the north and east sides of the Student Life Center.

Celebrate the countdown every hour with free smoothies for each countdown. Face painting for the kids. New Years goodies.

New Year’s Day Fireworks and Holiday Lights Finale at Midtown Crossing

7 p.m. Holiday Lights Spectacular; Fireworks immediately following. Enjoy the final Holiday Lights Spectacular show of the 2014 season and continue the visual excitement with a professionally-produced fireworks display!

  • Date and Time: Thursday, January 1st, 7 p.m.
