One of my favorite blogs that I follow is called Money Saving Mom. Crystal is currently in the Dominican Republic with her husband learning about Compassion International and their Child Sponsorship Program – she is planning to donate all of her proceeds from her current book to this wonderful program! I studied abroad and volunteered in the Dominican Republic and a piece of my heart will always be there. Crystal currently is blogging about her experiences, and I wanted to highlight two of them that she has written so far.
“I want to encourage you to do something… Step outside your comfort zone, give freely and generously of your resources and time, and live your life with arms outstretched.” See the entire post here, Live Your Life with Arms Outstretched.
“I want to challenge you to … think about what you can do to bring health and hope to those in your own community–and around the world.” See the entire post here, We all have something to give, even if it doesn’t seem like much.
One of my passions in life is service and helping others use their gifts and talents and interests in a way that benefits others. It is my hope that The Spirit of Saving will also inspire the spirit of giving, and together we can share our resources to help make our communities a better place.
