Makerspace Module: Garden Flags

Through step-by-step instruction, participants will learn how to create custom garden flags using the Cricut machine! Registration is required.

This program is also offered on Thursday, June 25, at 6 p.m.

Painting Pottery: Planters

Customize a ceramic masterpiece through the power of paint! Rosy Clay Co will provide a ceramic planter and all supplies to express yourself with a paintbrush. Once your creation is glazed and fired, you may pick it up from the Rosy Clay Co in downtown Papillion within 10-14 days.

Rainbow Crafters

Make your own jewelry and celebrate Pride! You’ll have the choice of making pompom earrings, macrame rainbow earrings, or a beaded bracelet. Come find community, express yourself, and make something uniquely you!

Each month features a new game with winners at each table. You can register ahead online or sign up onsite to compete head-to-head in our featured game of the month. Whether you’re a seasoned strategist or just here for the community, there’s a seat at the table for you.

Night Light: Groove After Dark

In this musical Night Light experience, we ask: What is a groove, exactly? How do humans find rhythm together, create harmony, and turn sound into song? What’s happening in the mind of a musician as they improvise their way through a classic tune, with one foot in tradition and one in the wild unknown? How can science inform creative practices?  

In his book Moving to Higher Ground, composer Wynton Marsalis writes “Jazz shows us how to find a groove with other people, how to hold on to it, and how to develop it.” During this 21+ adults-only Night Light, we’ll explore the many ways we can take inspiration from the freedom and collaboration of jazz. Beyond music, we’ll consider how the principles of improvisation can shape how we build community and show up in our relationships and daily lives.

Join us as we turn the pages of Omaha’s rich musical history while writing a new chapter – one rooted in community, creativity, and a deeper scientific understanding of what it means to live life deep in the groove.

Night Light (21+): PLAY

This March . . . forget your phone. Delete your feed. Leave your boss on read. Swipe left on living in algorithm-approved realities and feeling alienated from the world around you. Do it with your friends. Do it with strangers. Feel good for the sake of feeling good. Get weird, get silly, get playful. Join us for Night Light on March 20th and explore the science of PLAY! 

During this adults-only (21+) evening of discovery we’ll examine: the beneficial effects of play on the brain, the connection between play and learning, traditional indigenous games, and much more!
