Free Kids Programs in Omaha
Barnes and Noble Storytimes
Enjoy preschool storytime at Barnes and Noble stores nationwide. Times and dates may vary. Please verify with your local store before visiting, Oakview store and Crossroads Store.
Do Space
Visit the new Do Space Technology Center and play in the Kids Room or take a Free Class including Littles Lab for ages 3-5 and Juniors Makers for ages 9-11. View and sign up for upcoming events here. Membership is free and required for entry into Do Space classes and programs.
Home Depot Free Kid’s Workshops
1st Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Designed for children ages 5-12. Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety. All participants will get to keep their craft and receive a Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.
Joslyn Art Museum
Enjoy FREE general admission every day to this beautiful building with amazing permanent and traveling exhibits. They have programs especially for kids, and special events throughout the year. Additional charge for some special exhibitions. When you’re at the museum, visit the ART WORKS interactive space! (Closed Mondays and major holidays.)
Kids Bowl Free
During Summer months, Registration required
Register your children and they will receive two free games every day all summer! Shoe rental extra (some centers sell a season shoe rental pass.) Parents can purchase a family pass if they wish, so they can bowl with their kids. What a great way to be active and have fun with your kids all summer and build memories together!

Saturdays, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

There are many public libraries in Omaha and the surrounding communities, which host wonderful storytimes, fun programs for children and teens, classes for adults, and special events throughout the year!

Little Sprouts with City Sprouts
Little Sprouts is a weekly summer garden program for young gardeners to learn and explore at City Sprouts. Open to the public, weekly participation is encouraged but one-time visitors are welcome as well. Free and family-friendly, ages 5-10.
Kids Club & MAKEBreak Events at Michaels
Drop-in and take home a completed project. MAKEBreak crafts are offered seasonally and may require a purchase. On Saturdays from 10 a.m. – noon, they also offer weekly Kids Club classes for $3 per child for 30 minutes of creative craft fun (ages 3 and up).
Omaha Community Centers
Open gym time with your little ones for as little as $1/adult, and special events throughout the year. Classes for all ages also offered.
Pottery Barn Kids Storytimes
Tuesdays from 11 – 11:30 a.m.
