Welcome to Mission: Astronaut, a hands-on experience where visitors learn about space exploration, the technology that makes it possible, how it benefits life on Earth, and more through astronaut training challenges. Each section presents interactive tasks that require an astronaut’s mindset to solve and focus on engineering, physics, teamwork, and fun!

Dragon needs your help! The tacos for the party are locked in a box. Come help Dragon get to the tacos before it’s too late in this escape room based on the best-selling "Dragons Love Tacos" books by Adam Rubin. Designed for participants ages 6-10. Get ready to have a BALL with Mrs. M! Littles will get to move their muscles and test their motor skills as they bounce, roll, and throw all kinds of different balls!

Get ready for a bee-utiful time as we craft our very own honey bee sensory bins!  Each bin will be buzzing with fun materials that you can explore, play with, and take home. Perfect for little hands to discover the magic of nature, with all the textures, colors, and excitement of a bee’s world! After crafting, we’ll gather together for a sweet storytime, where we'll be reading "The Honeybee"—a delightful tale about the importance of these incredible creatures. 

The first 700 kids will get a children's goody bag, plus they can get fitted for a FREE bike helmet (while supplies last), courtesy of Children's Nebraska! Bounce Houses, Family Fitness Demos, Sports Activities, Mascot Race, and more!

Earth Day at The RiverFront will be a fun, Earth-friendly day of festivities along the Missouri River. Please join along the RiverFront Promenade and at the Riverfront Plaza in Lewis and Clark Landing for information booths, sustainability activities, terra cotta pot painting, giveaways, a clothing drive, and live music. Scatter Joy Acres will bring animals for a petting zoo.

Howard Hero the caterpillar is extremely impatient and has to wait 2 dreaded weeks until he hatches out of his chrysalis!! 2 weeks with no video games, no comic books and no pizza!! How will he survive?? Find out how when we read you the story of "The Very Impatient Caterpillar"! You will also get to observe our very own caterpillars in our Butterfly Garden!! What stage will they be in? Will they be caterpillars, in a chrysalis or will they be beautiful butterflies ready to set free?? We will also be crafting our very own Caterpiller/ Butterfly project! Sharpies are one of the simplest yet versatile tools you can use to create. In this workshop, you will learn different drawing and hand lettering techniques to turn a blank space into something extraordinary. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and take part in the scheduled activities. “It’s an opportunity for students, families, and the community to come together, have fun, and connect over the things they love.” The event will include Trivia Panel, Raffle and Prize Drawings, Craft Activities, Vendors, Photo Opportunities, Combat Demonstration, Marial Arts Weapons Demonstration, Painting Workshop, Cosplayers, and more.
The event will also feature special guests, including Ghostbusters of Nebraska, Star Wars 501 Legion, Brutus and more. Guests will be available for photos and meet-and-greets during the event. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance to secure priority entry. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows. The event is free, and attendees should review the BU Library Comic Con rules and regulations.
