  • Botna Bend Pancake Feed

    Every spring, Botna Bend park rangers Jon Fenner and Cory Thomas and their staff tap the silver maple trees that call the park home and collect their sweet sap to make homemade maple syrup. You can taste the delicious fruits of their labor by joining us for our annual Pancake Feed! Grilled pancakes and sausage will be served with our homemade maple syrup along with coffee & orange juice from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., so don't be late! Breakfast is free, but free-will donations are gratefully accepted and will be used to fund Botna Bend Park projects and improvements.

  • Monarch Tagging – FREE drop-in program

    Lauritzen Gardens 100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE

    Flutter over to the garden on Saturday, September 5 from 9 a.m. to noon for a monarch tagging event. Each fall, monarch butterflies set out on an extraordinary journey traveling thousands of miles to overwintering sites in Mexico. By gently capturing, tagging, and releasing these butterflies, researchers are able to track their migration, study survival rates, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face along the way. This experience is included with paid garden admission. FREE for garden members. No pre-registration is required.

  • Art In the Park: Fuzzy Printing Workshop

    Turn drawings into prints through the process of trace monotypes. Using ink, paper, and the pressure of only a pencil, we will transfer designs to create a unique print. It's next Monday, September 7, with the parade kicking off downtown at 10 a.m. The parade route winds through the city’s historic core, beginning at 16th and Cass Streets, heading south to Capitol Avenue, east to 10th Street, north to Mike Fahey Street, and west before concluding at 12th and Cass.
