School Supply Drives

When shopping for back-to-school this year, consider picking up a few extra items. Thank you for your generosity!

July 1st – August 15th – SHARE Omaha is partnering with 18 local nonprofits to encourage the greater Omaha metro to donate the school supplies needed to support 6,500 students. The initiative, supported by Wells Fargo, aims to collect the items local students need to successfully begin a new school year in the fall.  Items will be distributed to local learners by participating nonprofits.

until Aug. 3, 2025 – Annual Salvation Army KETV 7 Can Help Kids Back-to-School Backpack Program 

• New school supplies are being collected.
• Drop off donations at select Methodist Health System, Metro Credit Union, Cubby’s, and Salvation Army locations.

Aug 9th – Salvation Army Back Pack Drive at Westroads Mall – 10:00am-1:00pm – FREE

• The Annual Salvation Army Backpack Drive is coming up on August 9th, from 10am-1pm or while supplies last, in the NE parking lot. Limit one backpack per student.

July 26th – Back-to-School Family Skate Night – 6:30-8:30pm – FREE

• A fantastic evening of fun at our Back-to-School Family Skate Night!  Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for an evening of skating excitement and community fun! Let’s make this back-to-school season the best one yet.

July 28th – King of Kings Back to School Event – 4:00-7:00pm – FREE

• Get the school year off to a great start with King of Kings’ Back to School event! This free event from 4-7PM includes inflatables, food, animal encounters, and more. You can also register your children for a time slot to shop in the Back to School Store for free. Each child will receive a backpack and their own school supplies. Parents will also have a chance to win gift cards.

Aug 2nd – Back to School ISPY Sensory Bin – 11:00am – FREE

• Let’s get ready for BACK TO SCHOOL with an exciting DIY Back to School themed Sensory Bin adventure!! Scoop up colored rice and put it in your apple container for a fun homemade maraca, hunt for school supplies, bus erasers and what words can you spell with the scrabble tiles? We can’t wait to explore all the classroom textures with you!! This is a FREE, all ages event. (please note: all of our events are first come, first serve, while supplies last. We encourage everyone to come early to secure a spot!)

Aug 2nd-4th – Chase & Skye’s Back to School Bash – Included with Admission

• Get ready for the new school year with Chase and Skye at the Family Fun Weekend at the Omaha Children’s Museum
• Location: Omaha Children’s Museum – 500 South 20th St, Omaha, NE 68102

Aug 3rd – Kids Workshop: DIY Whiteboard – 9:00am-12:00pm – FREE

• Home Depot hosts workshops for kids on the first Saturday of each month. In August, your child to build a dry erase Whiteboard.
• Location: All Homedepot Stores

Aug 3rd – Back 2 School Bash – 9:00-5:00pm – Museum Admission

• What better way to get excited about going back to school than with a Back to School Bash?!  Go party with them with a variety of activities to kick of the school year with style and of course, plenty of time for play throughout the exhibits.

Aug 7th – Back to School Slime – 11:00am – FREE

• It’s time for back to school and what better way to celebrate than with Crayon Slime!! Leave the mess to us!! This is a FREE, all ages event!! First come, first serve, while supplies last!!

• Bounce houses, crafts, food and more!

Aug 10th – JCPenney Kids Zone: Color Your Own Pencil Pouch – 11:00am-12:00pm – FREE

• Bring the kids to JCPenney to color a pencil pouch to use this coming school year. The pouch includes an ruler.

Aug 10th – Community Fun Day – 12:00-5:00pm – FREE

• Come join North Omaha Community Partnership and our partners for a complete day of fun! Free Bookbags filled with school supplies, free food, slushies and goodies! Free entertainment and bounce houses. Free Community Resources! Free Vendor Marketplace for Minority and Small Businesses! No documentation needed!

Aug 26th-28th – Back to School Biscuit Baking – 2:00-4:45pm – FREE
