Veterans Day Events in Omaha
Nov 7th – Veterans Shine On – 6:00-7:00pm – FREE
- a special night honoring our Veterans. The event will include guest speakers, a laying of the wreath ceremony for our war representatives, music, and the grand lighting of the WWII Colonnade. Speakers include Mayor Jean Stothert, Councilmember Pete Festersen, and special guests Major (Ret) Yen Nguyen and Thu Nguyen. Refreshments will be served. We look forward to your attendance.

- Enjoy a free dine-in breakfast for veterans and active military members November 11, 2024 from 6 – 10 a.m. This event is in support of the Hy-Vee Homefront initiative which salutes the service of our nation’s veterans with special programs and events and provides support to organizations that serve our military members, veterans, and their families.

- In honor of those who proudly serve our nation, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium will be offering FREE gate admission to all active and retired military members, veterans, and their families on Veteran’s Day.

Nov 11th – Great Clips Free Haircuts to Military Service Members on Veterans Day – All Day
- As part of its annual Thank a Veteran event, Great Clips® will offer free haircuts to veterans and active military service members on Monday, November 11. Veterans and active military service members can go to any Great Clips salon in the United States and get a free haircut or a card for a free haircut that can be redeemed during a future visit. Non-military customers can visit their local Great Clips salon on November 11, get a haircut and receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran or active military service member as a way of saying thank you for their service. These cards can be redeemed for a free haircut through November 29, 2024.

Nov 11th – Scooters Free Medium Drink for Veterans and Active Duty – All Day
- On Monday, Nov. 11 anyone with a valid Military ID is invited to stop by any of our 825+ locations nationwide to receive a free medium drink as a token of thanks and showing our appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

Nov 11th – Free Entrance to National Parks
- On Nov. 11th, more than 100 national parks that usually charge entrance fees are offering free entrance. Find a participating park here.

- Applebee’s – Veterans and active-duty military receive a free meal from a select menu on November 11 at participating locations. Dine-in only.
- Casey’s General Stores — On November 11, past and present service members get a free, any size coffee or fountain drink.
- Carrabba’s — From November 8 through 10, order an entrée when you dine-in and take home another entrée of equal or lesser value for free. Then on November 11, order a complimentary dine-in appetizer or dessert paired with a free nonalcoholic beverage. Veterans and active-duty military are asked to show a service ID.
- Denny’s — Veterans and active-duty military personnel receive a free Original Grand Slam on November 11 from 5am to 12pm. Must show valid Military ID or DD214.
- Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers — Veterans and active-duty military personnel who visit participating locations on November 11 will receive a meal card valid for a free combo meal of their choice. Cards may be redeemed through December 31, 2024.
- Golden Corral — Golden Corral is hosting their Military Appreciation Night on November 11 from 5pm to close. This includes a free “thank you” meal when dining in.
- Red Robin – Veterans and active-duty military guests can enjoy a complimentary Red’s Big Tavern Burger and Bottomless Side when dining in at participating restaurants on November 11.
- Starbucks — Starbucks is honoring those who have served with a free tall (12-ounce) brewed coffee (hot or iced) for veterans, military service members and military spouses at participating U.S. stores and licensed locations on November 11.
- Texas Roadhouse — At participating locations, active-duty military and veterans can dine in or receive a meal voucher on November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a form of military ID. These vouchers are good for dine in or carry out at a later time. The voucher is good until May 30, 2025. If you choose to dine in on November 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, there will be a specific menu to select from.
- TGI Fridays — Veterans and active-duty military personnel get a free meal on November 11 from 11am to 3pm from a select menu.
11th of Every Month – True REST Veteran’s Day Float Spa Experience
- Every 11th day of every month military veterans/active-duty float for free. (Subject to availability. Offer may only be redeemed once every six months.) Please bring Military ID.
- Veterans are encouraged to visit True REST Float Spa online to reserve their free Veterans Day floatation therapy appointment.

Nov 11th – Veteran’s Day Ceremony at The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum – 11:00am-2:00pm – Museum Admission (FREE for military members)
- Come together as a community with special songs from our featured military band and inspiring stories from several speakers, including representatives from the Wounded Warrior Project and advocates for veteran mental health and suicide awareness. All military members will receive free entrance as well as $15 off new memberships – we hope to see you there.
