30th Annual Haunted Hollow at Indian Cave State Park

Join for the 30th Annual Haunted Hollow at beautiful Indian Cave State Park!

Schedule of Events

October 10 – 26

Halloween Scavenger Hunt – Have fun with the whole family and search the park for Halloween props with clues! Kids get a prize upon completion; adults get bragging rights!

October 10

5:30 – 7:30 p.m.: Trick-or-Treat on the Town – Children up to age 12 are invited to go trick-or-treating along the decorated trail through the town of St. Deroin.

Pricing: $3 per person ages 4+, free for ages 3 and under (includes hayrack ride).

October 11, 18, 25

2 p.m.: Pumpkin Roll for all ages; $3 per person

7 – 9 p.m.: Haunted Hayrack Rides – Adults: $9, kids ages 4-12 yrs: $7, ages 3 and under: free. Tickets go on sale on October 1 and may be purchased by phone or in person. Limited tickets and no refunds.

9 p.m.: Campsite Decorating Contest Judging

October 18

10 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Jack-O-Lantern Junk & Craft Market – Shop local this season! Vendor booth space available by calling the park office (402) 883-2575.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: 10th Annual Pink Pumpkin Walk – Join us for some exercise and a great cause fundraising for a local cancer organization. Cost is $25 per person. Registration deadline: October 1.

3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Trick or Treat by the Buses – Buskatiers (VW buses) will hand out candy to kids.

A valid state park vehicle permit is required upon entry.

ALL KIDS ARE INVITED for some healthy, Halloween fun!
 
Food-allergy kids are often left out of Halloween festivities because they can’t eat candy collected trick-or-treating. This is a food-allergy friendly event so that ALL KIDS can have fun trunk-or-treating for non-food items like stickers, tattoos, and other trinkets in lieu of candy.

All Hallows Eve Festival

September 3, 2025

This year’s annual All Hallows Eve Festival at Botna Bend promises fun for the entire family including hayrack rides, cookie decorating, hot dogs, and trick or treating! The public is invited to participate in fun fall activities hosted by Botna Bend Park staff and campers.

Public Events Details:

A $3 per vehicle entry fee or Pottawattamie Conservation membership is required to enter the park if you are not camping. Free will donations will be gratefully accepted and used to fund additional free and low-cost public programming at your county parks.

The following events will take place in the South Campground Pavilion:

  • 4:00-5:00 p.m. | Chili Feed
  • 5:00-5:30 p.m. | Cookie Decorating
  • 5:30-6:00 p.m. | Kids and Adults Costume Contest
  • 6:00-7:30 | Hayrack Rides & Trick or Treating

Middle Campground

  • GaGa Ball

Best Decorated Campsite Details:

Best Decorated campsite for registered campers only will be Saturday, October 4th. Judging will be after dark, and awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the lodge at 8:30 p.m.

Chili Fest

September 3, 2025

Bring the whole family out and enjoy a warm bowl of chili in the crisp fall air at the Arrowhead Park Chili Fest. This annual fall tradition will be on Saturday, October 11th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and promises fun for the whole family!
 
Join us for games, pumpkin painting, and of course, CHILI!
 
hayrack ride trick or treating will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
 
A $3/vehicle park entry fee or membership is required to enter the park. Free-will donations will be gratefully accepted & used to fund additional free and low-cost public programming at your county parks. For questions not answered online please call Arrowhead Park at 712-485-2295.
 
This event will be held rain or shine. Please meet at Breezy Lodge.
