Conservation Day at Heartwood Preserve

Conservation Day at Heartwood Preserve—a fun, family-friendly event focused on sustainability and simple ways everyone can help protect our planet.

Stop by informational booths to learn practical tips on living more sustainably and how even small actions can make a big impact. Guests can also pot and take home their own vegetable plant, perfect for starting a garden at home. Bring along your old electronics for our free e-waste recycling station, and help keep harmful materials out of landfills.

Plus, enjoy additional activities and fun surprises throughout the afternoon!

Out & About Storytime: Dundee Community Garden

Earth Day at The RiverFront

Earth Day at The RiverFront will be a fun, Earth-friendly day of festivities along the Missouri River. Please join us along the RiverFront Promenade and at the Riverfront Plaza in Lewis and Clark Landing for information booths, sustainability activities, terra cotta pot painting, giveaways, a clothing drive, and live music. and more.

Science Sunday will move locations, from the slides to the plaza, to participate from 1-2pm in this event.

Science Sunday: Seed Balls

Art in the Park: Plant-it for the Planet: Printing Plantable Postcards

March 6, 2026

In honor of Earth Day, stop by to decorate postcards and compose an inspiring message based upon this year’s theme “Our Power, Our Planet.” Creators will have the opportunity to work with movable type and earth-themed printing blocks to letterpress print the front of a postcard onto plantable seed paper. A mini-colophon will include planting information and a nod to Art in the Park 2026. All Materials Provided

Service Day at The C

Join for Service Day at The C on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and be part of a community effort to clean up and care for Lake Cunningham (The C). Volunteers will come together to help with various cleanup tasks, from picking up trash to clearing debris along the trails. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community, enjoy the outdoors, and make a lasting impact on the beauty of our beloved lake. Whether you’re participating as an individual or with an organization, your help will make a big difference.

We will provide rubber gloves and trash bags, but feel free to bring your own grabbers, thick gloves, and wear appropriate attire for outdoor clean-up activities. Bottled water will be provided throughout the event to keep everyone hydrated. Together, we can make The C shine!

Participate in Lake Cunningham Clean Up Day, a community event aimed at giving back to the beautiful space we all enjoy. This day is dedicated to all those who have used Lake Cunningham for events, runs, and festivals, and we’re asking you to help us maintain its beauty.

We will provide rubber gloves and trash bags, but feel free to bring your own grabbers, thick gloves, and wear appropriate attire for outdoor clean-up activities. Bottled water will be provided throughout the event to keep everyone hydrated.
This will be a great opportunity to come together, volunteer your time, and help preserve the natural beauty of Lake Cunningham. Whether you’re part of an organization or attending as an individual, your participation will make a big difference. From picking up trash to clearing debris along the trails, we’ll be working together to ensure the park remains a clean, welcoming space for all.
