Taekwondo Basics with Master Kim
Join Master Kim, a 6th degree Black Belt with over 20 years of teaching experience, for an exciting introduction to Taekwondo! Students will get a taste of this respected martial art while learning about discipline, building self-confidence, and embracing a healthy lifestyle. This is a free event for children ages 3-6. All participating children will need to have a release waiver signed by their guardian prior to the program. Registration is required

Roz needs your help! The poison tide is threatening her island, and she needs your help to figure out how to stop it! Work with others to solve clues and puzzles themed around the best-selling Wild Robot series by Peter Brown. Can you help Roz in time? This is a free event for children ages 6-9. All About Astronomy at Platte River State Park
Make a constellation, use a star chart to identify seasonal stars, examine a moon globe and compare it to the moon you see in the sky and more. Use what you learn late at night as the stars become visible.

Family & Friends Stroll Through the Park
Join us for Family & Friends Stroll Through the Park, where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as we take a casual stroll together. We'll gather at the shelter (by the playground) at 6:15 p.m., then set off on a leisurely walk. The full stroll covers just over a mile, but feel free to customize your adventure to suit your pace and needs. The stroll is stroller-friendly and dogs on leashes are welcome. It's a wonderful way to spend time outdoors and connect with loved ones! Bring water and your walking shoes.
Stories After Dark: Scary Stories (Adults Only)
Join OPL for a fun storytelling event for adults! Spine-chilling tales are lurking around every corner—have you ever had a moment that made your heart race or your imagination run wild? Whether it’s a ghost story, a creepy coincidence, or something that gave you goosebumps, we want to hear your scariest story! Prepare a 5-8 minute story about your experience and come share with the crowd. All participants will be awarded a superlative award!

Want to know more about what La Vista’s Public Works employees really do? Drop by Public Works Expo Day. This is your chance to go behind the scenes, meet the people providing essential services and see first-hand how Public Works helps keep our community running. HawkWatch Appreciation Days
This season marks the 34th year of Hitchcock HawkWatch, and you're invited to learn more about their important conservation work! Swing by the Loess Hills Lodge gallery from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. any Saturday in October to learn more about what their research is uncovering in our gallery displays, enjoy refreshments including lemonade and cookies, and see what raptors are passing through atop the park's 45-foot observation tower.

This year's annual All Hallows Eve Festival at Botna Bend promises fun for the entire family including hayrack rides, cookie decorating, hot dogs, and trick or treating! The public is invited to participate in fun fall activities hosted by Botna Bend Park staff and campers.
