2nd Annual Butter Brickle Ice Cream Day

OPL Summer Celebration
Celebrate books and the end of summer at an afternoon of outside festival fun, themed on Laura Numeroff’s picture book series “If You Give A Mouse a Cookie”. There will be games and activities, big trucks, face painting, glitter tattoos, and a special storytime featuring Pancake Pig. Meet us in the parking lot to join the fun! Pancake Pig’s storytime will be held inside the Library Administrative Building at 2 p.m. This is a free event for all ages. All crafts and activities available while supplies last.

A beloved chapter in Nebraska’s musical heritage will be celebrated as the Nebraska Children’s Chorus presents the Bel Canto Alumni Reunion Concert, marking the ensemble’s 30th anniversary. This special event will be held on Sunday, July 20 at 3:00 PM at First Central Congregational Church, 421 S 36th Street in Omaha. Admission is free and open to the public, with a reception to follow the performance.

Discover the magic of mirrors and light in this colorful Make It session! Kids will create their own handheld kaleidoscopes using reflective surfaces, vibrant beads, and craft materials. As they build and decorate, they'll learn how light and symmetry work together to create ever-changing patterns. "$5 after 5" is back, giving guests an opportunity to visit the museum after 5PM on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. From June 3-August 26, admission for all ages will be just $5 after 5PM on Tuesdays.
Community Fishing Night: Bellevue
Join for Community Fishing Night at Kramer Lake! Look for the Family Fishing Trailer, where loaner rods and reels, bait and fishing instruction are available free to participants. Fishing Instructors are also available to provide helpful tips and answer questions. Cool off this summer at the Summer Splash (formerly Hydrant Party). This La Vista summer tradition brings community members together to enjoy some outdoor fun with water. Discover Dance with American Midwest Ballet
Join American Midwest Ballet at the Performance Pavilion in Gene Leahy Mall for a free dance class. This class is open to all ages and led by a company dancer, and focuses on learning new steps and discovering the joy of dance.
Fontenelle Forest: Critters on the Go
Come face to face with some of the amazing critters you can find in the forest and learn all about why they are so neat! In the event of inclement weather, this program will be moved to the Library.
Sensational Slime Storytime
Participants will learn how animals use slime in nature and weird slime facts and will be invited to create a slime monster, blow slime bubbles or cut dripping slime with scissors. All supplies included. Children of all ages are welcome. Parents and/or caregivers are required to stay and help their children with this program.
Beach Bear Kiddie Pool Crispies

Insect Adventure at Wildlife Safari Park
Open now through October 5, 2025! The biggest little adventure in town is crawling, buzzing, and flying its way to Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park! Experience Insect Adventure, an all-new giant journey, featuring 35 supersized animatronic insects and spiders from around the world. Enjoy a self-guided exploration with familiar favorites, like the monarch butterfly, honeybees, and the black widow spider, while encountering unique species such as the Madagascar hissing cockroach and the bullet ant.
Egyptian and Turkish Dance Class with Metropolitan Community College
In this class students will learn the basic movements and isolations so well as, posture and some basic styling associated with popular Egyptian and Turkish style belly dancing. You will learn fundamental muscle control and fluidity while toning those core tummy muscles. It will encourage good posture, improve flexibility and it is a great low impact exercise activity as well. Great for beginners but, all are welcome to participate. This class will be located at the 8th Street Plaza in Heartland of America Park.

Feel free to bring chairs, blankets, and coolers for the concerts. Please use koozies for your cans and plastic cups for other drinks, as glass is prohibited. Elkhorn Shores Movies Under The Stars: Superhero Night
Superhero Night. Upon his father's demise, a new king is installed, yet he is confronted by an adversary determined to overhaul the customs and values of their people. Schramm After Dark: Moth Night
In celebration of National Moth Week (July 19-27), educators from UNL Extension and Nebraska Game and Parks will lead a moth lighting bioblitz at Schramm Park State Recreation Area. Bring a flashlight, search for moths at the light trap, and learn about moths and other nocturnal insects in Nebraska. We will use the iNaturalist app to document the species we encounter and collect data about nocturnal insects in the park. Data collected during this event will contribute to the Biodiversity in Nebraska State Parks initiative.
