NASA Glenn Research Center – the only NASA center based in the Midwest – is coming to Omaha to celebrate the city’s diamond anniversary as the host city for the NCAA College World Series! NASA will have a presence at the Kiewit Luminarium RiverFront with space-themed exhibits for the whole family to enjoy, a 53-foot interactive traveling exhibit with games and activations, as well as giveaways. The fun will go from Thursday June 12 – Sunday June 15 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar will visit for a special storytime! Children of all ages are welcome. Experience stories, creative movement, music and more. We explore the early literacy skills of singing, playing, reading, talking, and writing in each storytime. There will be opportunities to take photos.

Combine mindfulness and physical movement with the Fun Run Club. Kids will learn physical fitness and a positive mindset through mindful running, teamwork, and emotional awareness exercises.

Come solve puzzles and clues to unlock a prize box before time runs out in this escape room based on the best-selling "Harry Potter" book series. There will be three escape rooms, at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. for participants ages 8-12. Try to escape over summer break! Registration is required

"$5 after 5" is back, giving guests an opportunity to visit the museum after 5PM on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. From June 3-August 26, admission for all ages will be just $5 after 5PM on Tuesdays.

Yōkai, supernatural beings and phenomena from Japanese folklore and popular culture, are at once sinister and friendly, frightening and silly, and completely captivating to the imagination. Join Omaha Public Library and a representative from the Japanese Outreach Initiative for a brief exploration of the history of Yōkai and learn how to craft your own in various Japanese art styles. The Wednesday Night Workout Series offers a free mid-week outdoor workout, sponsored by Methodist Health System and led by licensed instructors from Genesis Health Clubs. Workout types vary from week-to-week, including popular favorites like Zumba, Mixxed Fit, PiYo and Barre.

Bring your favorite stuffed animal friend to a pajama storytime! After storytime, your stuffie friend will stay at the library for a sleepover with the librarians, where we’ll take pictures of them doing all sorts of fun activities. This program is for kids ages 0-7, but older siblings are welcome too.
