Finding Nemo
Disney Pixar’s Finding Nemo Theater for Young Audiences is a vibrant, puppetry-filled, musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 movie. This show features spectacular songs written by the creators of Frozen and Coco. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.
Springfield Days 2025
Three days filled with a variety of fun activities for all ages in Springfield, NE, just a short drive from the Omaha and Lincoln areas. Friday evening's events begin at 5pm with a food, games, and entertainment. Saturday's highlights include 5K run/walk, pancake feed, corn hole tournament, kids foam party, parades, rubber duck race, food trucks, games, street dance with a live band, beer garden, fireworks show & more! We'll start off Sunday with an outdoor worship service along with refreshments, fun games, and activities. Prepare for a fantastic time!

Popcorn Productions, LLC and Eugene T. Mahoney State Park present three melodramas this summer: “Peril of the Storm,” “Baron’s Revenge” and “Troll of Trafalgar.” Performances take place at the Denman and Mary Mallory Kountze Memorial Theatre inside the park.
Yoga in the Park at Turner Park
Yoga in the Park offers a weekly outdoor yoga session, sponsored by Methodist Health System and led by certified yoga instructors from Genesis Health Clubs. Yoga styles and instructors will vary from week-to-week. All skill levels welcome, including beginners! Sundays, May 25-July 27
Nebraska Wind Symphony Free Summer Concerts
The Nebraska Wind Symphony’s selections will vary for the two concerts. For the June 8th program we feature guest soloist, UNO student trombonist Ben Folkers, the 2024 winner of the annual Nebraska Wind Symphony Memorial Scholarship. Ben will be performing one of the movements from Launy Grøndahl’s Trombone Concerto.

Snapology
Join OPL as we engage in digital storytelling through exciting STEM and coding activities with our new community partner Snapology! While children are exploring robotics, coding, and design challenges using LEGO® bricks and technology, they are learning new skills and having fun! This is a free event for kids 6-12.
Ozobots at Baright Library
Kids are introduced to basic computer programming by exploring codes and programs using the Ozobot! The Ozobot is a miniature robot with color sensors that allow it to follow lines and read color codes to complete commands. In this program, youth will learn and draw basic color codes, integrate color codes into storytelling, and use Ozoblockly - an online coding program to explore sequential block coding. This class is taught by 4-H School Enrichment teachers. Class size is limited, so registration is required.
Candy Sushi
Roll on into OPL and roll up some candy sushi! We’ll explore the different types of sushi, make our own out of candy and rice krispie treats, and practice our chopstick skills in this free, interactive program for children ages 8-12. Registration is required
Hunger Games Survival Challenge
Happy Hunger Games! Come try your luck at survival skills and activities themed around the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins and see if you have what it takes to win the Hunger Games in this interactive program for teens ages 11-18. "$5 after 5" is back, giving guests an opportunity to visit the museum after 5PM on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. From June 3-August 26, admission for all ages will be just $5 after 5PM on Tuesdays.
Community Fishing Night: Omaha
Join for Community Fishing Night at Towl Lake! Look for the Family Fishing Trailer, where loaner rods and reels, bait and fishing instruction are available free to participants. Fishing Instructors are also available to provide helpful tips and answer questions. The Championship Chase Escape Room
Ready to play ball? Join Omaha Public Library for a sports-themed adventure! You will be “locked” in a room, and in order to escape in time, you will need to solve various sports-related puzzles and clues before your time is up. This escape room is for adults, ages 19+. They will have two different sessions, one at 5:00 PM and one at 6:00 PM. Registration is required
La Vista Travelin’ Trivia Nights
Get ready for some fun and friendly competition on the second Wednesday of the summer months. They will be traveling to a new location within La Vista each month. Two quizmaster hosts will keep the questions coming as teams of up to six battle it out for prizes and bragging rights. No phones are allowed to find clues or search for answers to the questions. Food truck will be on site.
Wednesday Night Workout Series at Turner Park
The Wednesday Night Workout Series offers a free mid-week outdoor workout, sponsored by Methodist Health System and led by licensed instructors from Genesis Health Clubs. Workout types vary from week-to-week, including popular favorites like Zumba, Mixxed Fit, PiYo and Barre.

NASA Glenn Research Center in Omaha
NASA Glenn Research Center – the only NASA center based in the Midwest – is coming to Omaha to celebrate the city’s diamond anniversary as the host city for the NCAA College World Series! NASA will have a presence at the Kiewit Luminarium RiverFront with space-themed exhibits for the whole family to enjoy, a 53-foot interactive traveling exhibit with games and activations, as well as giveaways. The fun will go from Thursday June 12 – Sunday June 15 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Join OPL at the Gene Leahy Mall for storytime! Storytime is geared toward preschoolers, but all ages are welcome to join in the fun. Rain or shine, we'll be there! They will be under the big white pavilion.
Very Hungry Caterpillar Visits Storytime
The Very Hungry Caterpillar will visit for a special storytime! Children of all ages are welcome. Experience stories, creative movement, music and more. We explore the early literacy skills of singing, playing, reading, talking, and writing in each storytime. There will be opportunities to take photos.
Crafty Afternoons at Fat Brain Toys
Stop by and cool off with a refreshing dose of creativity! We've got all the supplies and plenty of inspiration for kids to make and take home something awesome. All they need to bring is their unique personality!
Zoo Knows with Omaha Zoo
How much do you know about the animal kingdom? Can you tell the difference between a monkey and an ape? What farm animal is more dangerous than sharks? Join OPL and educators from Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium for this gameshow-style program.
Beaded Friendship Bracelets
Are you in your beaded bracelet era? Join OPL to make these widely popular statement pieces! Use polymer clay beads, letter beads and more to bedazzle your own bracelet or make one for a friend. This is a free event and is suggested for kids aged 7-14. Registration is required
Summer Splash (Mayor’s Park)
Cool off this summer at the Summer Splash (formerly Hydrant Party). This La Vista summer tradition brings community members together to enjoy some outdoor fun with water. Local firefighters will be there to provide a giant sprinkler. Water toys and squirt guns are available for attendees to use and enjoy.
Spark Your Story
Join Washington Branch every Thursday as local community members share their story. Enjoy snacks, engage in discussion with the storyteller, and explore new professions, storytelling mediums, and activities. This program is for teens 11–18 years old.
Daddy Daughter Date Night
Join for a very special Daddy-Daughter Date Night! Grab a spot today! It is going to be a night to remember! They have three time slots available: 5-5:45pm, 6:15-7:00pm, and 7:30-8:15pm. There will be fun activities, CFA Swag and delicious food. SO many fun memories will be made this night. We will even have a visit from a princess!
75th CWS at The RiverFront
The 2025 NCAA Men’s College World Series will be the 75th anniversary in Omaha. Celebrate the Diamond Anniversary at The RiverFront with live music, family fun and fireworks. Enjoy performances by Secret Weapon, Rustic Rebels, and The Pork Tornadoes before a dazzling fireworks finale.
Drum Workshop
Join Omaha Street Percussion for a workshop designed to give young patrons an opportunity to drum, while at the same time learn the importance of teamwork. Participants will be challenged to multi-task by using skills such as counting, listening, and watching for instruction and guidance in order to accomplish the ultimate goal, which is to perform as a whole group!
Vibes Summer Concert Series: High Heel Band
Get ready to soak up the sun and feel the rhythm at the Summer Vibes Concert Series, your weekly dose of live music, good vibes, and unforgettable summer nights! Join us Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm for an exciting lineup of local and regional talent—featuring everything from rock and pop to funk and soul. Join for the ultimate summer soirée at John C Fremont City Park! Concert in the Park is an outdoor concert series that will elevate your Thursday nights in June. Bring the whole family for a night of fun, starting with exciting kids' activities at 6:30 pm, followed by the sweet sounds of live music from 7 to 9 pm.
Movie Night at Highlander: Sonic 3
Movie Nights are a cherished tradition in the Highlander neighborhood, held on the lawn of the Highlander Accelerator. Everyone is welcome to this outdoor cinematic experience. This free event presents a family-friendly film suitable for all ages. Lawn opens at 8, movie starts at 9.
Classics With a Cause Series: The Sandlot
Each week, Quasar pairs up a local business with a local charitable cause, to present a “Classic” retro title for a “Free-to-the-Public ” event to raise awareness and support. This is a great way for your organization to educate and interact with an eager audience. Solicitation of free-will donations or mission-specific item donations can be part of pre-event, advertising co-op.

Open now through October 5, 2025! The biggest little adventure in town is crawling, buzzing, and flying its way to Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park! Experience Insect Adventure, an all-new giant journey, featuring 35 supersized animatronic insects and spiders from around the world. Enjoy a self-guided exploration with familiar favorites, like the monarch butterfly, honeybees, and the black widow spider, while encountering unique species such as the Madagascar hissing cockroach and the bullet ant.
NASA Glenn Research Center in Omaha
NASA Glenn Research Center – the only NASA center based in the Midwest – is coming to Omaha to celebrate the city’s diamond anniversary as the host city for the NCAA College World Series! NASA will have a presence at the Kiewit Luminarium RiverFront with space-themed exhibits for the whole family to enjoy, a 53-foot interactive traveling exhibit with games and activations, as well as giveaways. The fun will go from Thursday June 12 – Sunday June 15 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Grossology with Henry Doorly Zoo
Poop, vomit, slime, and even more amazing disgusting topics will be explored as we learn about some of the grossest (and coolest) animal traits. Puzzle Competition
Compete against other teams to complete the same puzzle in the fastest amount of time. All teams will be provided with a puzzle and will have two hours to finish the challenge. The first team to complete the puzzle wins!
