Christmas Bird Count for Kids
Want an opportunity to get your family outdoors over your winter break? Would you like to contribute to science? Join their Christmas Bird Count for Kids event at Schramm Education Center! Learn more about the birds that call Schramm home during the winter while participating in the longest running community science project in the country. During the event, participants can choose to help count birds on a hike in the prairie or on a hike down to the Platte River. During the count, we will be recording the number and type of birds we see. After we count, we will join back up in the Schramm Classroom to tally our results and make bird crafts.
Winter Break Fun: Snack Bar
School may be out, but the fun is just getting started! Stop into the community center and grab a bite to eat! Our popcorn and snack bar is sure to have something for everyone to create their ideal snack mix! Be sure to stay after and chat with friends, have some fun in the game room and use the gym! Ages: 8-17
The Last Kids on Earth Escape Room
You will be "locked" in a meeting room with puzzles, clues (and a few hints) to see if you have the smarts to figure out how to get out of our escape room! This escape room is based on the best-selling “The Last Kids on Earth” series by Max Brallier. This is a free event for kids ages 8-12.
The Goosebumps Zone
Enter the world of Goosebumps with this program full of spooky fun inspired by R.L. Stine’s bestselling books! Kids will enjoy creepy crafts, ghoulish games, and interactive stations that bring the eerie excitement of the series to life. Perfect for brave readers and thrill-seekers alike! This is a free event for children ages 8-12.

School may be out, but the fun is just getting started! Join Recreation and leave your mark on our graffiti wall! Stop in to add your artistic mark and creative touch to our giant community coloring page! Ages: 8-17
Wild Robot Kids Escape Room
Can your team solve the puzzles before time runs out? Sign up to reserve your spot in the challenge. No library card required. For incoming Grades 2-5. The instructions and game will take approximately 45 minutes. Do not sign up for more than one timeslot. 1:00 or 2:00
Interactive Movie: Frozen 2
Join for a magical showing of Frozen 2 on the big screen! While enjoying the movie, kids can take part in fun Frozen-themed crafts and activities inspired by their favorite characters. Costumes are welcome, creativity is encouraged, and all ages are invited to sing along and celebrate the spirit of adventure! This is a free event.. Crafts and activities available while supplies last.
Paper Jewelry
Get creative and eco-friendly! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to turn recycled paper into colorful, one-of-a-kind beads and transform them into stylish bracelets. All materials are provided, and no crafting experience is needed. This is a free event for teens 13+.

Set your intentions and bring your goals to life through the power of vision and mood boarding! In this creative workshop, you'll use magazines, images, words, and craft supplies to design a personalized vision or mood board that reflects your dreams, goals, and inspirations for the future. No artistic experience needed—just bring your ideas and an open mind. All materials provided, but feel free to bring any personal images or quotes you'd like to include. This is a free event for adults.
