Fall Kite Festival
Let’s go fly a kite! Families are invited to join us for a free day of kite-flying fun. Come see some of the world’s largest and most creative kites take to the air and bring your own kite to fly. These massive kites will also take part in multiple candy drops throughout the day, so bring a bag with you to collect your candy! This is an all-ages activity and there is no registration required so bring the whole family and enjoy a unique spectacle!
Ralston Family Fall Festival

Raices de Mexico Showcase
Raices de México is a nonprofit organization from South Omaha founded in 2008. Its mission is to share Mexican culture through folkloric and indigenous dances. Join Raices de México at Gene Leahy Mall for an exhibition of some of these dances. A cultural exploration of Mexico in Omaha! States represented include Jalisco, Veracruz, Baja California, Sinaloa, Michoacan, and some indigenous representation of central Mexico with Azteca Conchera Tonantzin.

Homeschool Hikes is a monthly nature exploration program hosted by the Schramm Education Center geared towards homeschool families. Each month, families can join a naturalist for a guided hike on the Schramm Park State Recreation Area hiking trails. During the program, participants will ask questions, draw, observe, and make discoveries in nature.
Paranormal History of Omaha
Ages 12+. Jamie from Midwest Paranormal History Tours will be talking about the spooky history of Omaha. All ages welcome but it may be scary for young children.

Free Admission Day to Lauritzen Gardens
Don’t miss this day of relaxation and fun with 100 acres of fall gardens, beautiful flowers, and colorful foliage. Experience the beauty of the NEW collections in the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory and enjoy the benefits of nature play in Sofia’s Play Garden. Guests can also explore our current exhibit, La Calavera Catrina, with eight larger-than-life skeleton sculpture installations staged in the garden. All guests receive free admission from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No advance tickets are required.
Fire Fighter Storytime
Join for a special Firefighter storytime. Firefighters will be here to read a book. Watch as they put on their gear and learn more about fire prevention. Then explore the fire truck.

Gene Leahy Mall will feature a different animal each week! Come interact with, touch, and learn about these cute and cuddly animals. This week's animal will be on hand at the 11th Street Promenade east of the Performance Pavilion.

Join the RiverFront for Fun Fall Friday! This family-friendly event features pumpkin painting, free donuts, live mariachi music and an appearance by Benji the Bush Baby!
All About Astronomy at Platte River State Park
Make a constellation, use a star chart to identify seasonal stars, examine a moon globe and compare it to the moon you see in the sky and more. Use what you learn late at night as the stars become visible.
Spooky Stories & S’mores at Lake Cunningham with Bennington Library
Join for a spooktacular evening at Lake Cunningham featuring S'mores and spooky stories around the campfire. This event is geared toward children grades 2-5. Stories told may be scary for young children.
Family & Friends Bingo – Monster Mash Bingo Bash
Goblins, ghouls, and giggles await at our Monster Mash Bingo Bash! This frightfully fun evening is packed with silly scares, colorful costumes, and monstrous prizes the whole family will love. Dress up if you dare, grab your bingo card, and join us for a spooky good time that’s more giggle than gore. It's bingo, but with a monstrously fun twist!

HawkWatch Appreciation Days
This season marks the 34th year of Hitchcock HawkWatch, and you're invited to learn more about their important conservation work! Swing by the Loess Hills Lodge gallery from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. any Saturday in October to learn more about what their research is uncovering in our gallery displays, enjoy refreshments including lemonade and cookies, and see what raptors are passing through atop the park's 45-foot observation tower.
Living History Weekend – Vintage Halloween at Arbor Lodge
Activities will include History of Halloween traditions displays, games, and hands-on-crafts will be fun for the whole family. During the weekend of October 25-26, Arbor Lodge will host special pumpkin carving demonstrations by Mikel Holland.

Looking for a safe, fun and family-friendly Halloween event in Omaha, NE? Candlewood Church Omaha is excited to be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 18 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The FREE event will be held outdoors in the parking lot of Candlewood Church, located at 5051 F Street.
