The public is invited to join the Ditmars family in the tradition of protecting our orchard and asking for the blessing of a successful crop next season with one of our most unique and beloved orchard traditions — Wassailing! This centuries-old English custom celebrates the orchard, the harvest, and the community that keeps it thriving. They’ll gather together among the apple trees as The Irish Pope leads our traditional blessing of the trees, wishing them health, abundance, and good fruit for the coming season. Activities include re-enactments of old English traditional rituals & rhymes with a chance to see the wassailing ceremony every hour at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30.
Explore repujado, the traditional art of metal embossing, in this hands-on workshop led by visiting artist, Linda Garcia. Participants will learn how to create beautiful raised designs on soft metal using simple tools and techniques and create their own unique piece to take home. This is a free event for teens 13-18. Join for the Fort Atkinson Candlelight Tour! This year’s theme is “The Eve of Sgt. Winningham’s Wedding, and the Return of the 1825 Treaty Expedition”. This unique walking tour by candlelight among the historic buildings and around the grounds will take approximately one and a half hours. Each stop along the way will reveal another part of the evening’s theme, which is based on actual events. Because space is limited, reservations/tickets are required.

A special night honoring our Veterans. The event will include guest speakers, a laying of the wreath ceremony for our war representatives, music, and the grand lighting of the WWII Colonnade. Speakers include Mayor John Ewing Jr., Councilmember Pete Festersen, and special guests Colonel (Ret) Dwight Lydic. Refreshments will be served. We look forward to your attendance.
Join OPL and Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project for a virtual interactive session! There will be a brief presentation on the significance of the lotus flower and the Lotus Lantern Festival, a step-by-step craft session where participants create their own traditional Korean lotus lantern, and a short documentary on Korea to close the event. This craft is suitable for ages 13+ and younger participants are encouraged to complete the craft with an adult caregiver.
