They’ve wandered the world, and now they’re headed to Omaha! TROLLS: Save the Humans, an outdoor exhibit by acclaimed artist Thomas Dambo, open through May 18, 2026 at Lauritzen Gardens. Crafted from reclaimed wood and full of wild wisdom, these six towering trolls are on a mission to help humans rediscover their connection to nature. Explore the gardens and meet these gentle giants — each with a story and a whole lot of personality.

Unofficial Galaxies, one of the largest fan-owned Star Wars collections ever assembled. It is a traveling exhibit built by fans who spent decades preserving the stories, characters, and creativity that shaped a generation.

Omaha Winter Farmer’s Market
For the first time ever, the Omaha Winter Market is going weekly! Join every Sunday from November through March, 11AM – 3PM at our new permanent location, Fowling Warehouse, for an indoor market experience that’s warm, vibrant, and full of local flavor.
Winterland Sled Weekends
The sledding hill is open 12–6 PM on select weekends, transforming the amphitheater into a snowy playground for all ages. Grab a saucer (or bring your own), take the hill, and enjoy the ultimate winter thrill—no lift ticket required!
2026 Meadows Annual Egg Hunt
Come join for their annual Easter Egg Hunt! They are bringing back their Egg Hunt! The Easter Bunny will be joining us! There will be pictures with the Easter Bunny and snacks. Pets are welcome. This is a free event and open to the public. Kids will hunt for eggs in designated areas for their age group during the designated times. After they hunt for the eggs, then they can turn in their eggs for a bag of goodies at the Egg Exchange. They look forward to seeing you there!

Guns & Hoses Hockey Challenge
Mark your calendars for the action-packed Guns & Hoses Hockey Challenge at Baxter Arena on March 15th, 2026. Watch local police officers and firefighters go head-to-head on ice, all for a great cause: supporting the First Responders Foundation! Kids will love to check out all the cool first responder vehicles parked out front, the exciting hock play, vendor booths and giveaways, chuck-a-puck intermission activity, and more fun planned at our Kids Zone. It’s the perfect springtime activity regardless of weather! Tickets are just $16, and kids two and under are FREE. Call or visit the Baxter Arena Box Office avoid service charges (402-554-6287).

Cooking Workshop with No More Empty Pots
Come enjoy a cooking demonstration with No More Empty Pots to learn skills such as nutrition, teamwork, and food-safety. The session will feature local, seasonal and garden fresh foods. This free event is open to adults and children aged 5 and up. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Registration is required.

Series of Unfortunate Events Escape Room
Count Olaf is scheming again! He’s locked the key to the Baudelaire’s fortune in a box, and the three Baudelaire children need your help to get it back before Count Olaf can secure the fortune for good. Come solve clues and puzzles themed around the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Can you help Violet, Klaus, and Sunny in time? This is a free event for children ages 8-12. Registration is required.
Stories & Scrapbooks
Bring your imagination to life with stories and scrapbooks! In this creative workshop, participants will use a instant camera to take pictures (and/or bring their own pictures!) and turn them into colorful scrapbook pages using paper, stickers, letters, and more. It’s the perfect mix of storytelling and hands-on art—no writing or crafting experience needed!

Forever Young Film Series: The Secret of NIMH
Mrs. Brisby (Elizabeth Hartman), a widowed mouse, must move her children out of their home in a field before the local farmer starts plowing. Hitchcock Folk School: Introduction to Fire Making (16+)
Have you ever wished you could confidently build a campfire? Or, maybe you'd like to learn how to successfully build a fire in a survival scenario using only naturaly occuring materials? Perhaps you're interested in understanding the role fire has played in shaping Iowa's ecological communities? If so, then this class is for you! This program is designed for adults and older teens who are new to outdoor skills, and who have a desire to deepen their place-based knowlege. Join naturalist Dustin Clayton and learn how to build a fire using a variety of techniques and materials. We will have lots of time for practice and experimentation with the different methods discussed.
Big Play Saturday: Jim the Bug Guy!
Come and bug out over bugs with the Bug Guy! Spiders, scorpions, giant hissing cockroaches, butterflies, and more... kids will get to learn about them all, and maybe even hold a few (if you dare). It's sure to be an exciting event!

Whether you're ready to tackle the 5K or 10k, or prefer a light 1-mile walk - bring the whole family for this festive event, you'll be running with purpose—building a healthier, stronger Fremont for all. Don your best green gear and Irish-inspired costume for our special best-dressed contest, where the top leprechaun will win a gift card to a local business! After the race, join inside the YMCA Camp for refreshments, awards ceremonies, and plenty of community spirit as we celebrate our top finishers in each age category with medals and prizes.

Sledding Night
Sled after dark at Crescent Hill at Hitchcock and experience an elevated twist on this favorite winter pastime. Ride the chair lift up the hill and shoot down on a zippy Zibob sled. For safety reasons, all participants must be ages 7 or older. No outside sleds allowed; Sleds are provided by the area. Pre-registration is required for this event. Lodge doors open at 5:30pm
Bad Pitches – Music Improv – Mature Audiences
Join on the 3rd Saturday of each month as our quick-witted performers play a variety of improv games, each with a musical twist. They'll take your wildest suggestions and transform them into hilarious, one-of-a-kind songs right before your eyes. Whether it's a rap about a clumsy superhero or a love ballad for a talking dog, each moment is as unpredictable as it is uproarious.
The Downtown Collective Band
In 2016, two musicians who loved music and jamming in the attic started The Downtown Collective Band. After starting with small gigs doing hybrid DJ/live music performances, the Collective grew as more friends from music school and work got together to make the jam bigger. Fast forward to today – 10 years later – they are known as one of the top bands in the Midwest. And now you can see them in the beautiful Benson Theatre! Tickets $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
