Frog & Toad Call Identification
Hop into the fascinating world of Nebraska amphibians with state herpetologist Dennis Ferraro at the Schramm Education Center as we kick off National Amphibian Week. Learn about the diverse amphibians that call Nebraska home and how to conserve them. We are offering two opportunities for froggy fun. Feel free to participate in one or both!
This event is free, but advance registration is required. Register here or email [email protected]. Registration is limited to 25 people per session. Sessions are recommended for ages 8+ due to the lecture activity. Participants should dress for the weather forecast and wear closed-toed shoes that can get dirty.
- Learn to identify Nebraska amphibians by their calls through a quick classroom presentation followed by a walk down to the park (roughly 1 mile round trip) to hear frogs calling. We recommend bringing a head lamp or flashlight.
