Amphibians of Nebraska Class

May 2 @ 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Free

Hop into the fascinating world of Nebraska amphibians with state herpetologist Dennis Ferraro at the Schramm Education Center as we kick off National Amphibian Week. Learn about the diverse amphibians that call Nebraska home and how to conserve them. We are offering two opportunities for froggy fun. Feel free to participate in one or both!
This event is free, but advance registration is required. Register here or email [email protected]. Registration is limited to 25 people per session. Sessions are recommended for ages 8+ due to the lecture activity. Participants should dress for the weather forecast and wear closed-toed shoes that can get dirty.

  • Learn about the many amphibians that call Nebraska home in a lecture-style presentation in the Schramm Education Center Classroom and view live examples of many of Nebraska’s frog, toad, and salamander species
  • Then, with the supervision of a professional scientist, learn and practice catching and identifying frogs outdoors at a pond.
