The Durham Museum 50th Anniversary Summer Celebration (Free Admission Day)

The Durham Museum is turning 50 in 2025 and we’re throwing a big party! We’re celebrating this extraordinary milestone with free admission and a day full of special activities on Saturday, June 28, 10AM-4PM. Enjoy live music, drop-in programming, photo-ops and much more as we celebrate our history and amazing guests and supporters.

• Listen to live music from local bands The Shucks Brothers, Daniel & The Deliverance and Finding Dixie
• Join drop-in tours to learn about our building’s history and hear more about some notable objects housed at the museum
• Enjoy “throwback” prices on Soda Fountain faves: $1 hotdogs (limit one per person), 50-cent popcorn and 50-cent one-scoop sundaes while supplies last
• Contribute your museum memories to our memory wall
• Create a memory at our 360-degree photo-op set up in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Great Hall
• Explore our must-see summer exhibition The Animation Academy: From Pencils to Pixels.

🚗 Event Parking
In addition to parking at The Durham Museum, the Conagra Brands parking lot at 7th and Leavenworth streets, with free shuttle drop-off at the museum, will be available during our 50th anniversary event.

Pickup will begin at 9:45AM. The last shuttle will leave The Durham at 4:30PM
