Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume is a showcase of nearly 70 mesmerizing ensembles spanning close to five decades of Disney film and television.
Cobweb Castle at The Children’s Museum
A Halloween tradition without the frights, Cobweb Castle returns this fall! Get ready for the not-so-scary side of Halloween! Explore the exhibit with a castle maze, discover black-light play, and wander through delightfully spooky (but never too scary) surprises around every corner.
Fall Mystic Fest 2026

Fall Arts and Crafts Show
The show is billed as one of Iowa's largest shows, with over 200 exhibitors presenting and selling thousands of unique, handmade products. Hours of the show are from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Sunday. Admission is $6 and children 10 and younger are free. Parking is free throughout the show. All patrons who attend the show on Saturday will receive a two-day re-entry stamp.

On the first Sunday of the month, one film in the series is shown on the big screen at 1PM in the Stanley and Dorothy Truhlsen Lecture Hall. The film is included with regular museum admission and free to members.

Join for a special presentation of Book Nook’s Theater of the 1949 classic comedy Africa Screams. Released on May 27, 1949, Africa Screams is an adventure comedy film starring Abbott and Costello. The story follows bumbling bookstore workers Buzz Johnson and mild-mannered Stanley Livington. Buzz cons the adventuress Diana Emerson into believing Stanley is an expert African safari hunter. The duo is roped into an expedition to find a hidden diamond mine. Seating is limited, so don't wait! Reserve your tickets today.

6-8 p.m.: Trick-or-Treat on the Town – Children up to age 12 are invited to go trick-or-treating along the decorated trail through the town of St. Deroin. A food truck will also be available. Pricing: $3 per person ages 4+, free for ages 3 and under (includes hayrack ride).

BPS Lied Activity Center Fall Craft Fair 2026
The Lied Activity Center will be hosting our 19th craft fair for the Bellevue community on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, from 9am-3pm. It has grown to become one of the biggest fairs in Sarpy County, featuring over 230 booths. Join us for an amazing event, featuring local shops, tasty treats, and many talented artists! Admission fees support the BPS Lied Activity Center. Adults $5.
BioDiscovery Lab: Cabbage Ink
This interactive experience explores the fascinating world of natural pigments. Using anthocyanin, a special pigment found in red cabbage, you’ll experiment with acids and bases to create a vibrant spectrum of colors. Through simple chemical reactions, watch as your paints shift from bright pink to deep blue and even green! Discover the science behind pH indicators, explore the chemistry of everyday ingredients, and unleash your creativity with nature’s own color-changing palette.
Brunch & Learn – UFOs
This presentation is a beginners guide to understanding the UFO phenomena, with a specific focus on local cases and eyewitness accounts. Brian J. Corey of the Necronomicast will cover all things alien, from early reported accounts to famous cases throughout history. Brunch will be provided, so come hungry!
Heartwood Fall Festival
Celebrate the best of autumn at Heartwood’s 2nd Annual Fall Festival. The park fills with festive activities including pumpkin decorating, giant pumpkin carving demonstration, a petting zoo, themed crafts, all the seasonal treats and a lively craft fair. Bring the whole family for some classic fall fun.

Get ready for a spooktacular time at Village Pointe’s Halloween Boo Bash! Trick-or-Treating, Special Characters, balloon twisting, OPD SWAT and Cruiser Vehicles and more all along Davenport Street!
31st Annual Haunted Hollow at Indian Cave State Park
2 p.m.: Pumpkin Roll for all ages; $3 per person. 6-8: Trick-or-Treating in RV Campground. 7 – 9 p.m.: Haunted Hayrack Rides – Adults: $10, kids ages 4-12 yrs: $7, ages 3 and under: free. Tickets go on sale on October 1 and may be purchased by phone or in person. Limited tickets and no refunds. 9 p.m.: Campsite Decorating Contest Judging
Chili Fest
Bring the whole family out and enjoy a warm bowl of chili in the crisp fall air at the Arrowhead Park Chili Fest. This annual fall tradition promises fun for the whole family! Join for games, pumpkin painting, and of course, CHILI! hayrack ride trick or treating will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A $3/vehicle park entry fee or membership is required to enter the park. Free-will donations will be gratefully accepted. This event will be held rain or shine. Please meet at Breezy Lodge.
