This summer, step into the magic of Disney and discover the iconic looks of some of your favorite Disney characters in an enchanting, up-close experience for all ages. Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume is a showcase of nearly 70 mesmerizing ensembles spanning close to five decades of Disney film and television.
Dinosaurs Around the World: Passport to Pangea
Step into a prehistoric adventure at Lauritzen Gardens with Dinosaurs Around the World: Passport to Pangea, on view May 30 through September 7, 2026. Produced by Imagine, this immersive traveling exhibition transforms the garden into a journey across ancient Earth, where life-sized animatronic dinosaurs roar, move, and captivate visitors of all ages.

Marcus Summer Movies: The Muppet Movie

Nebraska Balloon & Wine Festival 2026
Balloons launch Friday and Saturday Evening 7 PM. Gates open at 5:00 pm to give spectators an early glimpse at the hot air balloons as pilots assemble them for their flights.

Kids On The Block Puppet Show
Join at the library for WhyArts Kids on the Block, an engaging educational puppet program designed for children in grades K–4. Through lively performances and interactive storytelling, this special event introduces children to what it’s like to live with a disability. Each puppet is operated by a puppeteer who shares the same disability, making the overall message authentic and relevant.

Out & About Reading Party
Join Omaha Public Library the second Thursday of the month to read with fellow book lovers from all over Omaha for a silent reading party! This month we are at The Joslyn in the Discovery Garden. Late Nights at the Zoo (21+)

Classics With a Cause Series: The Karate Kid
Each week, Quasar pairs up a local business with a local charitable cause, to present a “Classic” retro title for a “Free-to-the-Public ” event to raise awareness and support. This is a great way for your organization to educate and interact with an eager audience. Solicitation of free-will donations or mission-specific item donations can be part of pre-event, advertising co-op.

La Vista End of Summer Celebration
Close out summer with an evening full of music, food and fun! Join at Southport West (in the parking lot area in front of Cabela’s) for the End of Summer Celebration, featuring: Live music performances from Cover Me Badd (opener) and Whiskey River (headliner), Yard games for all ages, Variety of local food trucks. Bring your friends, family and lawn chairs and let’s say goodbye to the season with a relaxed night under the summer sky.
Perseids Night Sky Event
Take in the beauty of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower and explore the wonders to be found in the night sky at Crescent Hill at Hitchcock! On Friday, August 14th, the park will stay open until midnight so visitors can view the night sky away from city lights. Visitors are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, binoculars, and telescopes to view nature's fireworks from the ski hill area and the park's trail system. The Omaha Astronomical Society will be present with telescopes to help you get a close-up look at celestial bodies.

Heartwood Kids Club
Saturday mornings belong to the kids. Heartwood Kids Club is a free weekly program filled with hands-on fun designed especially for children ages 4–8. Activities can include crafts, demonstrations, creative projects or interactive experiences each week brings a new surprise. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, so the whole family can enjoy a playful start to the weekend together. Happening every Saturday morning June 13th through September.

Kid Coders 10-12: Gamebots
Calling all gamers! Have a blast learning how to code while building robotic games to test your code. You will learn about sequencing commands, value and sensor inputs, and loops. This month you will create a robo eoraptor. Registration is required
Fremont Hispanic Festival 2026
The Fremont Hispanic Festival is a celebration of the culture and heritage of peoples native to Spanish-speaking countries. During this festival, they are honoring and celebrating the independence days of our neighbors who have cultural roots in Latin America. Parade starts at Noon.

You've achieved your summer reading goal! Join for a celebratory pizza party. Enjoy complimentary pizza and drinks while supplies last. We'll also have some nostalgic crafts! This is a free event for adults 19+ only. Registration is required
Puzzle Competition – Adults
Compete against other teams to complete the same puzzle in the fastest amount of time. All teams will be provided with a puzzle and will have two hours to finish the challenge. The first team to complete the puzzle wins! Space is limited, and registration is required.

Join on the 3rd Saturday of each month as our quick-witted performers play a variety of improv games, each with a musical twist. They'll take your wildest suggestions and transform them into hilarious, one-of-a-kind songs right before your eyes. Whether it's a rap about a clumsy superhero or a love ballad for a talking dog, each moment is as unpredictable as it is uproarious.
Stinson Park Concert Series: The Bishops
Grab your friends, bring the family, and come enjoy a fun-filled evening for the whole family. Pack your chairs, blankets, and coolers and settle in for a great night of music. Come hungry, come ready to dance, and most importantly — come have fun at Stinson Park!
