Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: Save the Humans

NE SciFest Scavenger Hunt
Download the scavenger hunt and go out and search for science. Ten quests await you – no matter where you live in Nebraska. You have all month long, April 1-30, to complete these tasks. Tag us on social media or email us and share your completed hunt!
Discovery Days at The Hall of History
Visit The Hall of History Museum at Boys Town, and explore their science stations. Make your own comic books, design your own superhero outfit, learn about pottery, make a molding of a butterfly or dinosaur – to take home, and take a peek into microscopes and guess how much your brain weighs. Sushi with a twist! Come hang out and make your own sushi using Rice Krispie treats and candy. Learn about different types of sushi, test your skills with some chopstick games, and enjoy a fun (and tasty) challenge. This is a free event for teens ages 12-18. Registration is required.
Blue & Green Day Celebration by Live On Nebraska
Every year, donation supporters are encouraged to wear blue and green the second Friday during April's Donate Life Month to raise awareness of organ, tissue and eye donation. This year, Live On Nebraska encourages you to bring the whole family for a night of fun in Lewis & Clark Landing at The RiverFront in celebration of Donate Life National Blue & Green Day. Enjoy free family activities including music, games, face painters, balloon artists and food trucks. The night caps off with the lighting of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge and a drone show.

KPop Demon Hunters
Earning the title of Netflix's most-watched film ever, the unbelievably fun KPop Demon Hunters took the world by storm. With its chart-topping (and Oscar winning) single "Golden" stuck in everyone's heads, the film became an accessible window into the world of Kpop while at the same time providing Korean representation in a mainstream animated film.
Science of Ice Cream and Dry Ice
eCreamery staff will conduct an informative presentation on the “Science of Ice Cream and Dry Ice.” Students will be given a small tour of the facility, a lesson on how ice cream is made, a brief history of ice cream, and the differences in density and composition between gelato, sorbet and ice cream. During the dry ice presentation, they will present the chemistry of dry ice and explain density and dissipation. This event is for kids 12 and under.
Kid Coders 6-9: Gamebots
Calling all gamers! Have a blast learning how to code while building robotic games to test your code. You will learn about sequencing commands, value and sensor inputs, and loops. This month, kids will create a Robo Frog. This is a free event for kids 6-9. Children under the age of 6 will not be admitted into this program. Registration is required.
Return of the THUNDERBIRDS
This family-fun “something for everyone” event celebrates the time of year many Native peoples give thanks to the Thunder beings for providing rebirth with rain & thunder. It is also a time we celebrate the return of many migratory birds to Nebraska. So Audubon and the Indian Center are celebrating together with music, dance, food, arts, kids games and activities, and much much more. FREE and fun for all.
Metropolitan Community College Science Day
Stop by Metropolitan Community College (Nebraska) South Omaha Campus, Mahoney building, on April 11 from 11am until 3pm, for exciting hands-on activities (with new ones added every year), which encompass a variety of science disciplines including physics, chemistry and biology. This event is free and open to all!

BioDiscovery Lab: Algae String
In this hands-on biodesign activity, visitors ages 8 and up will explore the fascinating world of biodegradable polymers derived from seaweed. Using alginate, a natural polymer found in large brown algae like kelp, participants mix a custom algae gel and transform it into colorful, squishy strings through a chemical reaction in a calcium bath.
Holi Celebration by Omaha Loves Bollywood
Get ready, Omaha! The Festival of Colors is coming to the heart of downtown for the first time ever at Gene Leahy Mall, and it’s going to be bigger, brighter, and more vibrant than ever before! Join for an unforgettable afternoon filled with music, colors, food, and celebration as we bring the spirit of Holi to the city. Astronomy Night
Enjoy a night filled with all things space! Join for hands-on activities led by museum educators and our community partners. Morrill Hall will be open late just for this event.
Night Skies at Lauritzen Gardens
Join the Omaha Astronomical Society for a magical evening of stargazing at Lauritzen Gardens. Enjoy a tram ride to the rose garden, where you’ll view the gorgeous night sky through powerful telescopes. Observe distant deep-sky objects, planets, and the moon in the serene garden setting. Program is designed for ages 16 and older. Pre-registration is required at least one week in advance of the session.
