Heartwood Preserve and Nebraska Snow Sculpting are proud to present the 2026 Nebraska Snow Sculpting Championships, held at Heartwood Park in Omaha. Winter Travelin’ Trivia Nights
Winter Travelin’ Trivia is back! When the weather turns cold, find us at some of the hottest spots in La Vista. Form a team with your friends and test your wits playing trivia with La Vista City staff on the second Wednesday of each month. Top teams will win prizes. A food truck will be on site, and the host locations will offer a range of beverages for purchase. Teams of 2-6 people are welcome to play. Pre-registration is not required.

This after school activity for ages 8-14 is the perfect way to unwind after school. Join Ms. Rachel and Ms. Ashley for a new craft every month as well as some tasty snacks! We will be meeting every fourth Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. (Children ages 8-10 need to have a guardian stay in the library).
Beginner Knitting
Join experienced knitting teacher Roxanne Wheeler as she teaches this class for beginning knitting. Participants will learn foundational knitting skills as we knit wash cloths which can be applied to numerous other knitting projects. Knitting supplies are provided, all you need to bring is yourself and your enthusiasm! Registration limited. Availability offered first to interested individuals who haven't been able to join a Beginner Knitting class yet.

Stories in Motion: Music and Movement Around the World
Join us as we travel around the globe exploring music and dance! This session will feature the story "Ten Oni Drummers" by Matthew Gollub, a delightful tale about silly ogres from Japan. We'll sing, dance, drum, and more! After storytime, children will be able to explore the props and instruments featured with representatives from Circle Theatre.
Winter Break Day: Family Nature Trivia
Come test your nature knowledge in a kid-friendly game of trivia! Gather a team and join us in the Schramm Education Center classroom for a fun-filled, educational morning complete with a prize for the winning team. After the friendly competition, they'll roast marshmallows on the outdoor patio.

Lil Rosies Teaching Artist, Chloe Hug, from The Rose Theater will be visiting to lead an interactive reading of the beloved book "Giraffes Can't Dance." Puzzle Competition
Grab your team and get ready for a puzzle showdown! Everyone gets the same puzzle, and the race is on to see who can finish first. You’ll have two hours to put the pieces together and solve a small puzzle-related mystery. Only one team will take the crown as Puzzle Champions! Space is limited, and registration is required. Please only register once for each team. Teams are required to have a minimum of 2 members and a max of 5. One member of the team must be 19+.
Mario Kart Tournament
Join OPL for a Mario Kart tournament at A.V. Sorensen! We will be playing the game on the Nintendo Switch 2. This is a free program for ages 13-18. Registration is required.

Valentine’s Tea at Arbor Lodge
Join us in the sunroom of Arbor Lodge Mansion for a special Valentine's Tea. Enjoy an assortment of teas and dainty brunch and dessert selections, along with musical entertainment and a brief history of Valentine's Day greetings. In addition to the tea, participants can explore the mansion and view the special “Love Is in the Air” exhibit, featuring displays of Morton Family weddings and vintage Valentine card collections. Teas will be at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Cost is $30 per person and includes your mansion admission and entrance to the tea.

Kid Coders 6-9: Gamebots
Calling all gamers! Have a blast learning how to code while building robotic games to test your code. You will learn about sequencing commands, value and sensor inputs, and loops. This month, kids will create a goal kicker. This is a free event for kids 6-9. Children under the age of 6 will not be admitted into this program. Registration is required.
Brunch & Learn – The Culture of Nigeria
Nigeria, located in West Africa, is a country with many diverse cultures! Local geography instructor, Dr. Victoria Alapo, will give an overview of her native country. Through slides and pictures, Dr. Alapo will take you on an educational and fun tour of the vibrant cultures that exist there. Get ready to travel abroad without leaving your chair! This event is free to attend and open to everyone. Brunch will be provided, so come hungry!
Interactive Movie: Frozen 2
Join for a magical showing of Frozen 2 on the big screen! While enjoying the movie, kids can take part in fun Frozen-themed crafts and activities inspired by their favorite characters. Midnight Madness
Ski or snowboard after dark during Midnight Madness and experience a different kind of nightlife at Crescent Hill at Hitchcock. All Ages. 8:00 p.m. to Midnight. Ticketing opens at 7:00 p.m. for anyone with pre-purchased lift tickets. Walk-in ticket sales begin at 8:00 p.m. We HIGHLY recommend purchasing rentals (if needed) with your Midnight Madness lift ticket as walk-in rental equipment is extremely limited.
