November's Little Tike Hike at Hitchcock Nature Center will take place along Fox Run Ridge trail from Saturday, November 2nd through Sunday, November 10th.
As you enjoy the sights & sounds along the trail you will spot activities posted along your route that are designed to help learners ages 3 to 5 experience nature in a new way. While it is designed for young learners, any age can learn something new and have fun, too!

The Lost World of Dragons
From Game of Thrones to How to Train Your Dragon, there is no denying that people of all ages love dragons and the magical mystique behind them. Experience them in a new way at The Lost World of Dragons. Now open at The Durham Museum, this exhibit showcases a unique, interactive experience for guests of all ages that is sure to breathe new fire into your imagination! Visitors will be immersed in stories of dragons — exploring the lore and history of them in nearly every region and culture, from Norway to China.
Fly Away Home (1996)
Amy (Anna Paquin) is only 13 years old when her mother is killed in an auto wreck in New Zealand. She goes to Canada to live with her father (Jeff Daniels), an eccentric inventor whom she barely knows. Amy is miserable in her new life...that is until she discovers a nest of goose eggs that were abandoned when developers began tearing up a local forest. The eggs hatch and Amy becomes "Mama Goose". The young birds must fly south for the winter, but who will lead them there? With a pair of ultralight airplanes, Amy, her dad and their friends must find a way to do it.

Haunted Cemetery Tours
Ollie the Trolley is offering public Haunted Cemetery Tours. Bring along your own spirits to toast the apparitions that haunt Omaha's cemeteries, mansions and other infamous locales. Learn about Omaha's wicked little city during a time when gangsters and brothels ruled the city. These tours are narrated by trained Historians.
The first tour starts Sunday, September 15th and runs through Sunday, November 17th, 2024. The time is 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Pick up location is at the Westlawn-Hillcrest mortuary located at 5701 West Center Road (park on the west side of the mortuary). This is a 3 hour tour, with a trained historian. The cost is only $39.95 per person.

Tea-Rex Party
Dear T-Rex and other area dinosaurs, you are cordially invited to a tea party at Omaha Public Library, based on the picture book “Tea Rex” by Molly Idle! Refreshments will be served and tea will be hosted by a Tea-Rex wrangler. Bring your favorite stuffed or plastic dinosaur friends to enjoy the party! This is a free event for children ages 5-9. Tea party snacks, beverages, and dinosaur tails to wear during the program will be provided.

- Hikes will begin no later than 30 minutes after the event start time, so be sure to arrive on time. All hikes will include an educational discussion of the nocturnal animals around the Forest and a brief talk into the lore of full moons. The event will include a bonfire and s’mores.
- Cost: $15 for Members, $25 for Non-Members

In Sony Pictures Animation's first feature film, the animated action adventure comedy Open Season, the odds are about to get even. Boog (Martin Lawrence), a domesticated grizzly bear with no survival skills, has his perfect world turned upside down when he meets Elliot (Ashton Kutcher) a scrawny, fast-talking mule deer.
