Veterans Shine On 2025
A special night honoring our Veterans. The event will include guest speakers, a laying of the wreath ceremony for our war representatives, music, and the grand lighting of the WWII Colonnade. Speakers include Mayor John Ewing Jr., Councilmember Pete Festersen, and special guests Colonel (Ret) Dwight Lydic. Refreshments will be served. We look forward to your attendance.

The long-standing parade tradition is back to honor the defenders of our freedom!
Celebrate at The Platform: Veterans Day
Join at The Platform, the museum’s interactive play space, and celebrate the holidays with us! Each date will have a special craft or activity and feature related photos from our Photo Archive for a bit of a history lesson while you celebrate. On Saturday, November 8, we honor our military heroes in a celebration of Veterans Day. These drop-in programs do not require registration and are included with regular museum admission.
Veterans Appreciation Day at Platte River State Park
Join at the Outdoor Heritage Complex at Platte River State Park on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Veterans Appreciation Day! They’d like to honor and show our respect for those who have served in a war, sacrificing of themselves for the common good of our country. The first 50 visitors with any military ID will receive a token for one free shooting activity. This is a family-friendly event and all are welcome.
