Let’s go fly a kite! Families are invited to join us for a free day of kite-flying fun. Come see some of the world’s largest and most creative kites take to the air and bring your own kite to fly. These massive kites will also take part in multiple candy drops throughout the day, so bring a bag with you to collect your candy! This is an all-ages activity and there is no registration required so bring the whole family and enjoy a unique spectacle!

Enjoy an afternoon filled with family fun, from midway games, inflatables, and hayrack rides to crafts, sweet treats, and additional entertainment. Bring your family, bring your friends, and celebrate the season with us. We can’t wait to see you there!

Raices de México is a nonprofit organization from South Omaha founded in 2008. Its mission is to share Mexican culture through folkloric and indigenous dances. Join Raices de México at Gene Leahy Mall for an exhibition of some of these dances. A cultural exploration of Mexico in Omaha! States represented include Jalisco, Veracruz, Baja California, Sinaloa, Michoacan, and some indigenous representation of central Mexico with Azteca Conchera Tonantzin.

Visit the Schramm Treehouse Classroom during a visit to Schramm Park and embrace the importance of unstructured, free play. It is a perfect place to sit in a nook with a book, ponder a puzzle, build with loose parts, try a naturalist-led activity, and take in the view.

Ages 12+. Jamie from Midwest Paranormal History Tours will be talking about the spooky history of Omaha. All ages welcome but it may be scary for young children.

Have you ever wondered about the ins and outs of Native Americans life on the plains? What their homes looked like? How their villages were structured? Join for a "travelling history" presentation by a speaker from the Durham Western Heritage Museum. This event is free to attend and open to everyone. Lunch will be provided, so bring a friend!

Gene Leahy Mall will feature a different animal each week! Come interact with, touch, and learn about these cute and cuddly animals. This week's animal will be on hand at the 11th Street Promenade east of the Performance Pavilion.

Join the RiverFront for Fun Fall Friday! This family-friendly event features pumpkin painting, free donuts, live mariachi music and an appearance by Benji the Bush Baby!

Movie Nights at the Orchard! Grab your chair, blanket & pillow and get comfy as the movie starts at dusk. No outside food/drink, but don’t worry—we’ll be open inside with all the goodies!

This season marks the 34th year of Hitchcock HawkWatch, and you're invited to learn more about their important conservation work! Swing by the Loess Hills Lodge gallery from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. any Saturday in October to learn more about what their research is uncovering in our gallery displays, enjoy refreshments including lemonade and cookies, and see what raptors are passing through atop the park's 45-foot observation tower.
