Intergenerational Orchestra
One of the most unique musical ensembles in the United States, The Intergeneration Orchestra of Omaha bridges two diverse age groups through the common language of music. The Orchestra is now in it’s 41st season. Musicians are all volunteers and either 25 years of age and younger or 55 years of age and older. Visit the Performance Pavilion for an afternoon of great music!

Hobbit Day
Whether you come from Bag End or beyond the Misty Mountains, adventure awaits! Come anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to enjoy crafts, activities, and fun for families, adults, and hobbits of all ages inspired by the beloved world of J.R.R. Tolkien. This is a free event for adults and families with children ages 5 and older. All crafts and activities will be available while supplies last.
Spooky Glow Painting
Come and create a spooky canvas that glows! You’ll be given a black canvas to decorate using phosphorescent paint and stencils. Your final creation will glow-in-the-dark! Paint your canvas as you share about your own paranormal experiences or listen as staff share a spooky story. This is a free event for kids 8-12. All supplies are included and are while supplies last. Registration is required

Let's be honest. We all know fall is the best season. So, let's celebrate it! Miss Tina will read autumnal stories, she'll guide kids through some festive yoga poses, then everyone will get to enjoy a cute craft activity. It'll be as fun as a giant pile of leaves!
Boredom Busters: Whiteboard Pictionary
The second and fourth Tuesday after school stop by the library for a fun activity. Snacks provided. For ages 8-12.
Design It / Make It – Ghost Train
All aboard the spooky express! In this hands-on class, you’ll design and decorate your very own ghostly train just in time for the Halloween season. Using creative materials and guided instruction, you’ll bring your haunting locomotive to life while exploring design, construction, and a little bit of Halloween magic.

Apple Tasting
They have a new batch of apples to taste and rate this year, generously donated by Vala's Apple Orchard! Come for fresh fruit and lots of other fun for the whole family! Drop in anytime. No library card or registration required.
Oktoberfest La Vista
Join for a traditional Oktoberfest celebration with a modern-day twist in City Centre! Main Street will be closed to make way for music, Oktoberfest-themed games and activities, a Husker Volleyball watch party (game time 3 p.m.), hearty food, and of course a beer garden.
Boomstock
Boomstock is more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of the legendary 60s and 70s music that defined a generation. Hosted by Boomer Radio, this charity event, supporting Project Harmony and 50 Mile March Community of Hope, brings the Omaha community together for a night of groovy tunes, good vibes, and giving back. By attending Boomstock, you're not just enjoying great music--you're helping support important local causes!
