Join for this Amazing Sight as Hot Air Balloons take to the sky at the scenic Apple Orchard in Council Bluffs- Will have Live Bands! 6:00 PM – Balloon Flight (weather permitting), 5:30–9:30 PM – Live Music by VERTIGO, ~7:40 PM – Balloon Glow at Dusk (weather permitting). $40 per car – Admission included (only ONE ticket needed per vehicle!)
Opera Outdoors
Opera Omaha’s annual kick-off to the season returns. Spread your picnic blanket, kick off your shoes, and relax as the songs of birds and opera intertwine. This FREE, family-friendly concert, which has become a community favorite, is held at Midtown Crossing’s Turner Park and includes some of opera’s greatest hits.

World O! Water Festival
World O! Water is a FREE, family festival on Saturday September 6th from 12-4pm at Chalco Hills. The educational event helps all ages learn about water conservation and the important role water plays in our lives. Join in the fun for hands-on science and water activities, games, crafts, and wildlife demonstrations! There will also be face painting, and a free hot dog lunch while supplies last. World O! Water is great for families, youth groups, and scout troops. Find event details at WorldOWater.org.
Hobbit Day
Whether you come from Bag End or beyond the Misty Mountains, adventure awaits! Come anytime between 2 and 4 p.m. to enjoy crafts, activities, and fun for families, adults, and hobbits of all ages inspired by the beloved world of J.R.R. Tolkien. This is a free event for adults and families with children ages 5 and older. All crafts and activities will be available while supplies last.
