Join for an exclusive screening of The Negotiator: Billy Caldwell, a compelling documentary that sheds light on the extraordinary life of Billy Caldwell—also known as Sauganash. This film explores Caldwell’s role as a chief, diplomat, and treaty negotiator during one of the most turbulent periods in Native American history.

This session is free for all attendees and is intended for participants aged 14 and older with an interest in the natural world. Kick off our 2025 season (and 8th year!) of "A Land Ethic Workshop." This free, introductory session will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center and is perfect for anyone with an interest in conservation and a desire to develop a better understanding of the natural world outside their own front door. Join us and celebrated educator Ron Cisar as we introduce participants to our 10-month-long programming series, "A Land Ethic Workshop".

Gather the family for dinosaur-themed fun during the running of our traveling exhibition, Antarctic Dinosaurs.
10AM-Noon: Engage in cool dino experiments with Dinosaur Ranger Anthony from Stomp Chomp Roar. 1PM: Join a special tour of Antarctic Dinosaurs full of fun dino facts. Plus, enjoy crafts and games throughout the day. This drop-in activity is included in regular museum admission; FREE for members

Fly-tying is the art of attaching materials such as feathers, thread, metal, beads and more to a hook, with the aim of imitating an insect or small prey. Fly tying is a great way to add to your tackle box, express creativity and to have another excuse to go fishing.

You’ll work with the Cornhusker Fly-Fishers as you make a fly of your own to take home. Stop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 to give a fly a try! This event is free and open to the public.

A puzzle competition with an Escape Room twist! Each team will have 2 hours to complete the same 368-piece puzzle and solve the included mystery. There will be 10 teams competing to see who can finish the puzzle the fastest!

Hiyah! Premier Martial Arts is going to turn our toy store into a dojo! Your little warrior will have a blast learning basic martial arts and self-defense skills, as well as techniques to improve concentration, self-discipline, respect, and confidence.

Join fellow book lovers for the in-person OPL Book Bash at the Library Administration Building. Attendees will hear about new and exciting books from library staff, have a chance to win bookish prizes, and get to mingle with fellow book lovers. Attendees will each take home a list of their favorite titles. Reading enthusiasts and book clubs are encouraged to attend! Adult beverages and light appetizers will be served. Registration is required to attend this event.

Join OPL at The Joslyn for storytime, featuring stories, creative movement, music and exploration of a piece of art. Storytime is geared toward preschoolers, but all ages are welcome. This Storytime is part of The Joslyn's monthly Art-tastic Saturdays.

The Brick Bus is making a stop at the store! They'll have building prompts, timed challenges, set builds, and more. Plus, we'll have a bunch of our own building toys out for kids to try. It's the ultimate block party
