Don’t miss your chance to see comedian Ben Bailey live in Omaha! He drove the smash hit series Cash Cab (still in syndication around the world) for over 550 episodes, earning multiple Daytime Emmy® Awards. Prior to becoming “the Cash Cab guy,” he performed at The Comedy Store in LA, in clubs across NYC, and at major comedy festivals around the world. Bailey starred in two specials for Comedy Central. He released "Road Rage and Accidental Ornithology" in 2011; and “Ben Bailey: Live and Uncensored” in 2016.

Just as Ruby learns to identify the birds in her neighborhood, we will also learn to observe specific features in order to identify common backyard Nebraska birds. They will make a tool to help us on our birdwatching adventures and conclude with a bird watching expedition outside.

Join for an exclusive screening of The Negotiator: Billy Caldwell, a compelling documentary that sheds light on the extraordinary life of Billy Caldwell—also known as Sauganash. Fly-tying is the art of attaching materials such as feathers, thread, metal, beads and more to a hook, with the aim of imitating an insect or small prey. Fly tying is a great way to add to your tackle box, express creativity and to have another excuse to go fishing.

You’ll work with the Cornhusker Fly-Fishers as you make a fly of your own to take home. Stop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 to give a fly a try! This event is free and open to the public.

A puzzle competition with an Escape Room twist! Each team will have 2 hours to complete the same 368-piece puzzle and solve the included mystery. There will be 10 teams competing to see who can finish the puzzle the fastest!

Design a miniature living world inside of a jar, learning about plant care and ecosystems! Create your own green, thriving microhabitat in this fun, hands-on workshop!

Join fellow book lovers for the in-person OPL Book Bash at the Library Administration Building. Attendees will hear about new and exciting books from library staff, have a chance to win bookish prizes, and get to mingle with fellow book lovers. Attendees will each take home a list of their favorite titles. Reading enthusiasts and book clubs are encouraged to attend! Adult beverages and light appetizers will be served. Registration is required to attend this event.
