Celebrate Father’s Day weekend with an unforgettable experience at our Father’s Day Car Show. From classic cars to modern builds, this one-of-a-kind event brings together horsepower and history inside our aircraft-filled hangars.
This annual event begins with a 5k road race starting in the City Park at 8 am, register in advance to receive a t-shirt or on race day starting at 7 am. The Kinderfest parade down Main Street begins at 11 am. Following the parade, the city park overflows with good old-fashioned fun! A petting zoo and blowups will await the kids. Game booths of all kinds will offer prizes: ring toss, duck races, basketball, cornhole, paddle wheel and more. Where Everyone is a Winner! Lots of food choices including: pulled pork, brisket, brats, burgers, walking tacos and home-made pie!

Freedom Night is a full evening of family fun, festive games, and hands-on farm experiences. The night ends with a spectacular fireworks show presented by Bellino Fireworks.
Join for the second annual Cookie Mile presented by Kookaburra Cookies, Fleet Feet, and Nike! The course features a fast, flat one-mile loop through the iconic Aksarben Village in Omaha, Nebraska. Starting from Stinson Park, runners circle the village before finishing on the corner of 67th Street and Mercy Road. Celebrate the 4th of July at the pool! Admission to all City of Omaha outdoor pools will only be $1 on the 4th of July. All pools will close at 5:00pm. (Hanscom will close at normal time, 3pm).
Celebrate the 250th Independence Day at Heartwood Beach Club, our biggest summer bash. The park transforms into a beach-themed playground featuring giant sand sculptures, sand sculpting lessons, giant water slides in the Amphitheater, games and festive food. Make your mark on our community mural and enjoy a rocking concert at sunset before settling in for one of the best spots to watch nearby fireworks. Bring your friends, wear your red, white and blue, and celebrate summer in true Heartwood style.
Bring a blanket and join us for a half hour of musical fun with Lori Lynn @ Bayliss Park. Most appropriate for kids 5 years old and younger and an adult companion. In the event of inclement weather this program will be moved to the Library.
