Curiosity Crew is a one-hour, hands-on STEM program for children ages 2–11 that blends play, exploration, and early learning. Through interactive activities using age-appropriate technology, toys, and apps, young learners discover foundational STEM concepts while building problem-solving, motor, and early literacy skills. This playful, engaging environment helps spark curiosity and comfort with digital tools from an early age, while also supporting school readiness by nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. March Theme: Shrinking Art! Space is limited. Registration is encouraged.

Click Clack Duck will visit for a special storytime! Children of all ages are welcome. Experience stories, creative movement, music and more. We explore the early literacy skills of singing, playing, reading, talking, and writing in each storytime. There will be opportunities to take photos.

Our friends from Metro will join us, along with a real city bus, at today's special storytime celebrating Nebraska Public Transit Week! Children of all ages are welcome.

Come solve clues and puzzles themed around the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Can you help Violet, Klaus, and Sunny in time? This is a free event for children ages 8-12. Bring your imagination to life with stories and scrapbooks! In this creative workshop, participants will use a instant camera to take pictures (and/or bring their own pictures!) and turn them into colorful scrapbook pages using paper, stickers, letters, and more. It’s the perfect mix of storytelling and hands-on art—no writing or crafting experience needed!

Have you ever wished you could confidently build a campfire? Or, maybe you'd like to learn how to successfully build a fire in a survival scenario using only naturaly occuring materials? Perhaps you're interested in understanding the role fire has played in shaping Iowa's ecological communities?  If so, then this class is for you! This program is designed for adults and older teens who are new to outdoor skills, and who have a desire to deepen their place-based knowlege. Join naturalist Dustin Clayton and learn how to build a fire using a variety of techniques and materials.  We will have lots of time for practice and experimentation with the different methods discussed.

Help kick off Our Community Reads 2026: Coming Together! This is a family-friendly, all-ages community event to celebrate reading, crafting, and what makes this community special. Designed for children ages 5 to 12, Kids Night Out invites young explorers to connect with wildlife in exciting new ways after hours at the Zoo. Led by trained educators, each themed evening includes hands-on activities, up-close animal encounters, behind-the-scenes tours, a movie, pizza, snacks, and much more. Drop-off starts at 5 p.m. and pickup is at 9 p.m. Registration is $50 per child.

Bring life to your garden by stopping by our seed giveaway with the Papillion Butterfly Garden Committee! All are welcome to collect seed packets for flowers, vegetables, and/or herbs. Master Gardeners will be available to answer your questions.
