Join for a cozy evening of sweet treats and beautiful views at S'mores and Sunsets! Gather around the fire at one of our local parks, where we'll be making delicious s'mores while enjoying the breathtaking sunset. This family-friendly event is open to all ages, and no registration is required. Just bring your appetite for marshmallows and a love for the outdoors! We look forward to seeing you there for a fun and relaxing evening.

Sushi with a twist! Come hang out and make your own sushi using Rice Krispie treats and candy. Learn about different types of sushi, test your skills with some chopstick games, and enjoy a fun (and tasty) challenge. Registration is required.

Curiosity Crew is a one-hour, hands-on STEM program for children ages 2–11 that blends play, exploration, and early learning! Stop by to learn about a topic and complete an activity!

In order for curious minds to bloom, it is essential to plant a love of reading at a young age. Join OPL at Lauritzen Gardens for stories that celebrate gardens, plants, insects and more, and discover the joys of nature, movement, music, and literature. Storytime is geared for preschoolers, but all ages are welcome. Lauritzen Gardens will offer free admission to families who attend this storytime.

Get to know the new OPL Do Space in our Skills Class! Each session will focus on learning a new skill, machine, or software. This session will focus on the introductory 3D modeling skills. Participants will be able to get to know the software Tinkercad and start their 3D printing journey!  Register now for this 2-hour, hands-on program.

Stories in Motion with Circle Theatre is returning to Omaha Public Library storytimes! Families are invited to explore the sights and sounds of India through "The Festival of Colors" by New York Times bestselling authors Kabir Sehgal & Surishtha Sehgal.

Celebrate reading with a party all about bookmarks! Kids can decorate a variety of bookmarks using fun supplies and their own creativity. From colorful designs to imaginative patterns, everyone will leave with a collection of unique bookmarks to enjoy with their favorite books. All supplies are included while supplies last. This is a free event for kids ages 6-10, and registration is required.

Count Olaf is scheming again! He’s locked the key to the Baudelaire’s fortune in a box, and the three Baudelaire children need your help to get it back before Count Olaf can secure the fortune for good. Come solve clues and puzzles themed around the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Can you help Violet, Klaus, and Sunny in time? This is a free event for children ages 8-12. Registration is required.

Work on your fiber art projects while enjoying the company of others. Crocheting, knitting, cross stitching, and other fiber art mediums welcomed. Third Friday of each month, 5:30 to 7:30 in the Main Library's Meeting Room.

Hop on over for a festive evening of Bunny Hop Bingo this April! Bring the whole family for a spring-filled celebration featuring fun bingo rounds, sweet treats, and egg-cellent prizes. Whether you're a bingo beginner or a seasoned player, there's something for everyone to enjoy. With pastel vibes, playful energy, and a few bunny surprises along the way, this event is sure to put a spring in your step!

Travel back to the 1920s with Murder at the Juice Joint – an old-fashioned whodunnit in the magnificent setting of the Arbor Lodge Mansion. Solve clues, look for evidence, and break the case while mingling with new friends.

Spring is in full swing! Take a guided spring hike and discover all the edible and medicinal plants that are beginning to emerge this time of year. Become familiar with interesting spring folklore and seasonal practices associated with the coming of May. Learn how fairy tales and traditional stories contain a lexicon for being in dialogue with the natural world. We will also discuss how you can incorporate wild foods and medicines into your own garden. Ages 16+ please. $10 per person. Park entry fee included in registration. Explore Midtown Crossing in a whole new way! The Great Midtown Treasure Hunt is a free and open-to-the-public treasure hunt that invites participants to visit neighborhood businesses and landmarks, solve puzzles, games and riddles at each stop, and sleuth for clues that lead them closer to the “Hidden Treasure”. Team up with friends or bring the whole family! This self‑guided hunt is most ideal for teams of 4. All ages are welcome to put your problem-solving skills to the test, all at your own pace.

STEM has never been so sweet! In this hands-on program, kids will explore science and engineering using tasty treats as their tools. From building with snacks to experimenting with edible creations, learning is fun when you can eat your experiments at the end! This is a free event for kids 6-10. Registration is required

Come enjoy a cooking demonstration with No More Empty Pots to learn skills such as nutrition, teamwork, and food-safety. The session will feature local, seasonal and garden fresh foods. This free event is open to adults and children aged 5 and up. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Registration is required.

Compete in teams to finish a 500-piece puzzle in 2 hours or less! Register your team of 2-4 people or as an individual looking to join another team. Registration open today online or in person by dropping by either library and speaking with a librarian.
