Explore repujado, the traditional art of metal embossing, in this hands-on workshop led by visiting artist, Linda Garcia. Participants will learn how to create beautiful raised designs on soft metal using simple tools and techniques and create their own unique piece to take home. This is a free event for teens 13-18. The 10th Annual Porchfest OMA is Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 11am to 6pm. The free community festival has over 90 performances that take place on 13 stages in Omaha’s Gifford Park Neighborhood at 33rd & California Street.
On the first Sunday of the month, one film in the series is shown on the big screen at 1PM in the Stanley and Dorothy Truhlsen Lecture Hall. The film is included with regular museum admission and free to members.

In honor of Fat Bear Week, join in on the Fat Bear Fun at OPL with a special storytime. Enjoy books and songs about bears followed by crafting handmade binoculars to spot the Fat Bear Hall of Champions around the library. This event will be sure to entertain our littlest bear scouts! Parents/caregivers must remain with their child(ren) for the duration of the program and are encouraged to help younger children with the activity.
