Janie York from Humanities Nebraska will explore the role our founding mothers played in the American Revolution. Women of the time used their cunning, creativity, and skills with the needle to craft a story of how they supported the military. You’ll meet activists, impersonators, and seamstresses who supported the war effort and in some cases changed its trajectory.
Bring a blanket to the park and join us for 30 minutes of dancing fun with Miss Abbey from Motion Works Dance. Most appropriate for kids ages 5 and under and an adult companion. In the event of inclement weather this program will be moved to the Library.

Something went wrong on a paleontology dig, and your team has been transported back to the age of the dinosaurs! You’ll need to work together to solve clues and puzzles hidden in the cave and your field gear to activate the portal device and “return home”. Can you escape the prehistoric world or will you be stuck with the dinosaurs forever? Registration is required.
Our friends from Omaha Children's Museum are back! We'll explore what happens to molecules when they're put to the test, in this show all about chemical reactions.
This month they are making sew-free pillows! Kids will create their own cozy pillows using fleece and simple tying techniques. Kids will leave with their own personalized pillow to take home! In this hands-on musical experience inspired by Dinosaurumpus!, kids become the musicians as they explore the many ways percussion instruments make sound—shaking, scraping, and striking along with the story. Guided by a staff member from the Omaha Symphony, young participants will stomp, chomp, and make music together while discovering how rhythm brings this dino-filled tale to life.

Every great adventure needs two things: a hero to save the day and a villain with a clever plan. In this action-packed writing workshop, young writers will invent their own unforgettable heroes and devious villains -- complete with superpowers, weaknesses, secret hideouts, and big personalities. Once the characters are created, students will put them to the test by writing an exciting adventure story where the hero must face the villain's plan. By the end of the class, each student will have the beginning of their own heroic tale! This is a free event for children ages 8-12. Registration is required

Each week, Quasar pairs up a local business with a local charitable cause, to present a “Classic” retro title for a “Free-to-the-Public ” event to raise awareness and support. This is a great way for your organization to educate and interact with an eager audience. Solicitation of free-will donations or mission-specific item donations can be part of pre-event, advertising co-op.
