Join at the Outdoor Heritage Complex at Platte River State Park on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Veterans Appreciation Day! They’d like to honor and show our respect for those who have served in a war, sacrificing of themselves for the common good of our country. The first 50 visitors with any military ID will receive a token for one free shooting activity. This is a family-friendly event and all are welcome.

Explore repujado, the traditional art of metal embossing, in this hands-on workshop led by visiting artist, Linda Garcia. Participants will learn how to create beautiful raised designs on soft metal using simple tools and techniques and create their own unique piece to take home. This is a free event for teens 13-18. No registration is required. Materials provided, while supplies last.
Join author Danielle Herzog for a reading of “What Are You, Lou?”. Participants will work together to craft a story and learn the joy of bringing characters and their adventures to life! This is a free event for children 6-12.

Caregivers of children ages two to five years old are invited to discover more about the world of herpetology. Join us at the James Family Conservatory & Nature Center at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meet an animal ambassador, create animal art and more during this free program. This program is designed for ages 2-5 and their adult care-giver. Stop in at the James Family Conservatory and Nature Center anytime between these hours to visit our herpetology-themed stations.

Festivities kick off at 5 p.m. in the bank parking lot with free food, family-fun activities, and pictures with Santa. Then, the fun continues with live music—and finally, they’ll celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Tree of Lights being hosted by the bank...as we light the big Christmas tree just after sunset. Jingle is an annual fundraiser that supports their mission. This event is an evening filled with holiday experiences, cocktails, delicious food bites and a wonderful silent auction of 36 unique wreaths decorated by our schools. This fundraiser creates an opportunity for our donors to make a direct impact on the students in our community through a silent auction, school wish list items, raffles and more.
The brothers Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman are bringing their band, The Silent Comedy, to Omaha. With years of touring under their belts, this band mixes the sounds of the blues, honky-tonk, and punk, and is sure to bring a memorable show to the Holland. Their songs are rough-hewn, expansive American rock & roll with dirt under its nails and whiskey on its breath.

Calling all cake lovers! Join us on Saturday, November 15th for all the cake you can eat from 1:30-3:00pm. The cost is $30 per person and we will start you off with SIX slices of cake! We will have a variety of cakes for you to choose from (all cakes will contain dairy, eggs, and flour). Finish those six? Just ask for more! Join Teaching Artist, Chelsea Herman, as they guide us in the technique of pamphlet stitch binding. This hand-stitched binding is well suited for poetry chapbooks, imagery, and short texts or for creating elegant handbound catalogues, menus, and event keepsakes. Learn different variations of this binding and how each offers unique opportunities for presenting content. Patrons will bind their own pamphlet stitch booklet to take home.
