After your prehistoric pal is built, you can give them a voice by writing a thrilling mini-adventure about their life in the wild! No experience needed—just bring your imagination! Join OPL at “Once Upon a Time at the Castle,” a storytime and wildlife adventure in the enchanted gardens. Storytime will feature stories, creative movement, music and more. After storytime, learn about the real creatures we read about through live wildlife interactions and activities. This month we will learn about snakes.
Get ready for a roaring good time! In this hands-on musical experience inspired by Dinosaurumpus!, kids become the musicians as they explore the many ways percussion instruments make sound—shaking, scraping, and striking along with the story. Guided by a staff member from the Omaha Symphony, young participants will stomp, chomp, and make music together while discovering how rhythm brings this dino-filled tale to life.

In order for curious minds to bloom, it is essential to plant a love of reading at a young age. Join OPL at Lauritzen Gardens for stories that celebrate gardens, plants, insects and more, and discover the joys of nature, movement, music, and literature. Storytime is geared for preschoolers, but all ages are welcome. Lauritzen Gardens will offer free admission to families who attend this storytime.

The Kids Markets is a nationwide movement that gives kids the platform to launch their own mini businesses. From slime to soaps, lemonade to lawn services—kids sell what they create, while learning real-life business and social skills.
Through step-by-step instruction, participants will learn how to create custom garden flags using the Cricut machine! Registration is required.
Each week, Quasar pairs up a local business with a local charitable cause, to present a “Classic” retro title for a “Free-to-the-Public ” event to raise awareness and support. This is a great way for your organization to educate and interact with an eager audience. Solicitation of free-will donations or mission-specific item donations can be part of pre-event, advertising co-op.
Learn how to block in a scene with watercolor wash, then pop the details with pen work on top. Breathe in, observe your surroundings, find expansion and growth all around you. Learn how to create distance with color, find magic in the patterns of nature. We will be working with pens, liquid watercolor, watercolor pencils, water-based pastels and water brushes. Meet at the Arrival Plaza next to the Discovery Playground!

On June 19th, head over to the Performance Pavilion in Gene Leahy Mall for a performance by the Navy Band and Omaha Symphonic Winds!
Enjoy an evening soundtrack at the market provided by some of the region’s most talented local musicians. Our Beats & Bites Stage performances feature a rotating lineup of solo acts and crowd favorites bringing everything from acoustic sets to soulful originals and covers. Bring a blanket, grab something delicious from the market or food trucks, and settle in for a relaxed evening of live music under the sky.
Everyone is invited to this block party for bounce houses, bubbles, fire trucks, face painting, games, food trucks, free dessert, and more! All ages invited. No library card or registration required. Drop in anytime! NOTE: This event takes place at the Gretna Crossing Park West Shelter. Please dress for the weather. Rain location is Gretna United Methodist Church, 11457 S. 204th St. Activities may be more limited.
All movie nights feature gates opening at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8. Falconwood Park encourages guests to arrive early to participate in themed activities and enjoy food and beverage offerings before each screening begins.
