The group will perform “Funga Alaafia” song and dance and the “Banuwa” song with a clapping game. In this workshop you will immerse yourself in making a mandala, the Sanskrit word for circle. Hindu and Buddhist traditions use mandalas as a tool for meditation and focus. Before you know it, the repetitive lines and designs will send you into a meditative state of calm and relaxation. Various options & sizes of drawing surfaces will be provided along with markers, colored pencils, string and magnets so that you can choose how to display your magnificently completed mandala. Get to know the new OPL Do Space in our Skills Class! Each session will focus on learning a new skill, machine, or software. This session will focus on sewing machine basics, including the parts of the machine, getting set up, and basic stitches. After learning the basics, participants will work on creating a pillowcase!
