Have you ever wished you could confidently build a campfire? Or, maybe you'd like to learn how to successfully build a fire in a survival scenario using only naturaly occuring materials? Perhaps you're interested in understanding the role fire has played in shaping Iowa's ecological communities?  If so, then this class is for you! This program is designed for adults and older teens who are new to outdoor skills, and who have a desire to deepen their place-based knowlege. Join naturalist Dustin Clayton and learn how to build a fire using a variety of techniques and materials.  We will have lots of time for practice and experimentation with the different methods discussed.

Help kick off Our Community Reads 2026: Coming Together! This is a family-friendly, all-ages community event to celebrate reading, crafting, and what makes this community special. There will be a food truck in the parking lot, performances, displays, and hands-on activities taking place throughout the Library. Join for this Our Community Reads extravaganza!

Join for this special Meet a Musician storytime with the Omaha Symphony! They’ll be joined by a clarinet player who will bring the children’s book "Kitten’s First Full Moon" to life with live music.

Volleyball: LOVB Nebraska vs. LOVB Salt Lake

Get ready for a wild night filled with fun and discovery! Designed for children ages 5 to 12, Kids Night Out invites young explorers to connect with wildlife in exciting new ways after hours at the Zoo. Led by trained educators, each themed evening includes hands-on activities, up-close animal encounters, behind-the-scenes tours, a movie, pizza, snacks, and much more. Drop-off starts at 5 p.m. and pickup is at 9 p.m. Registration is $50 per child.
