Meet a real life sled dog and their racer at this free talk!

Celebrate America Recycles Day with Keep Omaha Beautiful, and become a plastic scientist! Conduct hands-on experiments to test and sort plastics, and learn what those recycling symbols really mean. Explore what the plastic numbers and resin codes mean. Use science to sort plastics by their properties and types. Learn why reducing waste has a greater impact than recycling alone.

Come watch the annual Leonids Meteor Shower and enjoy stargazing at Neale Woods located at 14323 Edith Marie Ave. in Omaha. Our event will begin with a brief evening hike on dirt-packed trails through the prairie and forest. Then as night falls, we will watch for shooting stars together while learning about meteor showers and general astronomy from our seasoned volunteer, Bob Fuchs. The Omaha Astronomical Society will have telescopes available as well for your stargazing enjoyment.

Join Omaha Symphony musician Rosario Galante as he introduces the fun music the clarinet can make during this playful reading of "Kitten's First Full Moon" by Kevin Henkes. Designed for kids ages 3-5, this storytime is fun for friends of all ages with some support by their adults.

Join OPL and Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project for a virtual interactive session! There will be a brief presentation on the significance of the lotus flower and the Lotus Lantern Festival, a step-by-step craft session where participants create their own traditional Korean lotus lantern, and a short documentary on Korea to close the event. This craft is suitable for ages 13+ and younger participants are encouraged to complete the craft with an adult caregiver.

Don't worry, the fun doesn't stop there... 🔍 You can grab a new card and keep playing! This activity is aimed at children ages 6-11, but younger siblings and parents can play along too. They're baaack! Game nights at the orchard - grab your family, grab your friends & head to the orchard for a laidback evening of playing games. They have board games & cards available there to play, but you are more than welcome to bring your favorite game to enjoy...all ages are welcome!

Are you worn out after a busy work week? Do you need a "pick me up" to kickstart your weekend? Grab your friends, coworkers, or significant other and come wind down during our Sunset Hike! This hike will explore the gravel and dirt trails near the Nature Center, then head out to the third loop of the Boardwalk to watch the sunset over the Missouri River.

They’ve wandered the world, and now they’re headed to Omaha! TROLLS: Save the Humans, an outdoor exhibit by acclaimed artist Thomas Dambo, open through May 18, 2026 at Lauritzen Gardens. Crafted from reclaimed wood and full of wild wisdom, these six towering trolls are on a mission to help humans rediscover their connection to nature. Explore the gardens and meet these gentle giants — each with a story and a whole lot of personality.
