This event is free to attend, but we kindly ask each guest to bring one non-perishable food item per person participating in cookie decorating. All donations will go to support local families in need. Bring the whole family for sweet treats, warm smiles, and unforgettable holiday memories!
Join Omaha Symphony musician Rosario Galante as he introduces the fun music the clarinet can make during this playful reading of "Kitten's First Full Moon" by Kevin Henkes. Designed for kids ages 3-5, this storytime is fun for friends of all ages with some support by their adults.
Lil Rosies Teaching Artist, Chloe Hug, from The Rose Theater will be visiting to lead an interactive reading of the beloved book "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus." Children and families will get to enjoy the story, participate in fun theater activities, and get excited as we prepare for our holiday show "The Pigeon Gets a Big Time Holiday Extravaganza." Don’t miss this lively evening of imagination, singing, dancing, and storytelling—all inspired by pigeons, buses, and the magic of live theater! All are welcome!
This Giving Tuesday, join at the Dundee for a holiday market and open house Get some early holiday shopping done in the Dundee Theater lobby and gift a mix of redeemable experiences and other fun things!
The ceremony is a spiritual and meditative event lasting 90 minutes, with a focus on releasing negative energy to increase relaxation, creativity, and focus. It is centered around the consumption of ceremonial grade cacao, a gentle plant medicine (think hot chocolate) that is full of essential minerals and rich in antioxidants like flavonoids that help protect the body from oxidative stress and inflammation. During the ceremony the cacao is chopped and melted into a drink to be sipped on, accompanied by a combination of guided meditation, breath work, and journaling. Cost: $25 | Garden members: $20
The series is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 9 – 10 am and 10 – 11 am. The cost to participate is $5 per child and $5 per adult per program and includes admission to the Education Center after the program. Schramm Family Pass members participate free. A State Park Vehicle Entry Permit is not required in the Schramm Education Center parking lot.
Experience stories, creative movement, music and more. Explore the early literacy skills of singing, playing, reading, talking and writing in each storytime! Children of all ages are welcome; storytimes will be tailored for the age of the children present. At this storytime, we will learn about fire safety with a local firefighter and even see a fire truck!

Catchy tunes, silly stories, goofy gifts, audience antics: it’s all in this brand-new musical party that sleighs!

Designed for children ages 5–12, younger siblings welcome with their caregivers, this class supports social engagement, emotional regulation, and open-ended play.

A guest-favorite event, Holiday Cultural Festival offers unique crafts and traditional dress while musicians and dancers perform in front of Omaha’s official Christmas tree throughout the night. Hitchcock Nature Center is proud to host another amazing Hitchcock Experience Endurance Run, presented by the Greater Omaha Area Trail-Runnerz. Runners will descend upon the park on December 6th and 7th to participate in a half-marathon, 101K, 50-mile, or 100-mile endurance run through the picturesque Loess Hills.

A Harvest Holiday: Maker's Market at the Orchard
Join for the HOLLY JOLLIEST fun run in the La Vista City Centre! Fun for all ages and “running” abilities. Be ready to suit up in your provided holiday gear and conquer the obstacles set by the North Pole elves. Total distance for this fun run is a 2k. Join OPL at The Joslyn for storytime, featuring stories, creative movement, music and exploration of a piece of art. Storytime is geared toward preschoolers, but all ages are welcome. This Storytime is part of The Joslyn's monthly Art-tastic Saturdays.
In this interactive workshop, you will explore the fascinating science of bioluminescence—the natural ability of organisms to produce light! Participants will create their own glowing reactions using safe household materials, discover real-life bioluminescent organisms, and unleash their creativity by designing unique glowing deep-sea creatures. Event is FREE with the cost of daily admission (or Membership) though early registration is required.
2nd Annual Downtown Papillion Cookie Crawl—a festive tradition that’s quickly becoming a local favorite! Last year, over 200 cookie lovers joined in the fun, collecting mouthwatering treats from small businesses all around town. This is a sip and shop event where participants get to sample select wines from Corkscrew Wine & Cheese while enjoying snacks at each store and special holiday flash sales! At 2:00 pm, gather in the theater for a special reading of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. The 501st Legion (Star Wars characters) will be making appearances throughout the day, and our Maker’s Market will feature unique gifts from local creators. Kids can write letters or color pictures for Santa before delivering them in person.
Let’s wrap up the year in style at the 15th Annual Christmas in the Village at 24th & Lake! From festive music to family-friendly activities and local vendors, this is your chance to soak in the holiday cheer with the whole community.
